Brown Flushed

It's the Chad
It's the Chad
Daniel Alaei and Chad Brown limp-checked their respective blinds and saw a {5-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {9-Clubs} flop, which they both checked.

Turn: {5-Clubs}

Alaei bet out, only for Brown to raise it. Call.

River: {A-Clubs}

Both players checked, and Alaei flipped {Q-Spades} {8-Hearts} for nothing more than a pair of queens. Brown's {8-Clubs} {2-Spades} had made a rather less than premium flush, but it was enough to take the pot.

Glantz Hits the Million Mark

A good final table start for Matt Glantz -- he's won two decent sized pots in a row.

Hand #1

Glantz raised in mid position and got called by Greg Mueller in the cutoff.

Glantz bet out on the {10-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {J-Spades} and also on the {6-Diamonds} turn. Both times Mueller called. They both checked the {A-Clubs} river -- but Mueller couldn't beat Glantz' {J-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} and mucked.

Hand #2

Glantz raised in mid position again and this time Michiel Brummelhuis re-popped him from the button. He called, and then proceeded to check-call the bet from Brummelhuis on the {K-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {5-Hearts} flop.

They saw a {3-Hearts} on the turn and Glantz bet out. Brummelhuis called, and then checked behind Glantz on the {9-Diamonds} river. Glantz turned over {A-Hearts} {10-Spades} -- and Brummelhuis mucked, giving Glantz the pot.

Glantz is up to 1,080,000 now.

Hsuings and Roundabouts

Kenny Hsiung, who started the day as chip leader and was at one point up to over a million in chips, is now our short stack.

He raised from the cutoff and was called by big blind Michiel Brummelhuis to see an {A-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} flop. Brummelhuis checked and Hsiung bet; Brummelhuis called.

They checked down the {9-Hearts} turn and {Q-Clubs} river and Brummelhuis flipped {J-Hearts} {10-Clubs} for a pair of jacks. Hsiung couldn't beat it and mucked; he's down to around 300,000.

Pat on the Head for Pezzin

Michiel Brummelhuis raised and apparently got zero respect -- he got called in three spots by Pat Pezzin, Brown and Mueller in the big blind.

The {9-Hearts} {8-Spades} {10-Spades} was checked to Pezzin who bet; Mueller passed but everyone else called.

Again the {2-Hearts} flop checked to Pezzin who bet; this time Brummelhuis gave it up, and it was him and Brown heads up to the river.

Both players checked the {6-Hearts} river, and they flipped their cards. Brown showed {A-Spades} {J-Spades} for a straight and flush draw that never happened, and dropped to 500,000; Pezzin's set of nines took the pot to put him up to 650,000.

Klecan He Do It?

Klecan he, can't he...
Klecan he, can't he...
Oh dear, disaster for Klecan -- he's down to just 50,000.

Chad Brown raised and Greg Mueller reraised. Short stack Klecan four-bet and Brown gave it up, but a call from Mueller later and they saw a flop.

Flop: {4-Spades} {4-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}

Mueller check-called a bet from Klecan. Onwards.

Turn: {5-Clubs}

Check, check. Interesting.

River: {A-Spades}

Another check from Mueller, and this time a raise to Klecan's bet. A call -- but Klecan mucked when Mueller turned over {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} for top two, leaving himself just 35,000 behind. Yikes.

Not long after, Klecan moved all in to a raise from Mueller and got called by both Soheil Shamseddin and Mueller. Both players checked the {Q-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} flop and Shamseddin checked the {10-Hearts} turn as well. When Mueller bet, he passed, and he and Klecan were on their backs.

Mueller: {A-Spades} {J-Diamonds} for a straight
Klecan: {5-Hearts} {5-Clubs} for, er, a pair of fives

But...

River: {J-Spades}

Chop! Klecan stays in -- with his share of the blinds, he's up to 50,000.

A Lot for Alaei

Daniel Alaei raised and was met with a reraise form Greg Mueller on the button. A call, and on they went. Alaei check-called the {2-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} flop and the {4-Spades} turn. Both players checked the {4-Clubs} river, and Alaei's pocket nines took the pot, Mueller just a shade behind with pocket eights.

Alaei now has 980,000 for the chip lead, while Mueller dips to 390,000.
