Haxton Eliminated

Isaac Haxton
Isaac Haxton
Isaac Haxton will have to wait another day for a shot at reaching his second final table of the summer, as he was recently eliminated from play, the result of the following hand:

The under the gun (UTG) player limped, as did a second unknown in late position before action folded around to Haxton in the big blind who raised to 1,600. Both limpers called and the trio saw a {7-Spades}{10-Hearts}{K-Hearts} flop.

Haxton then moved his last 700 into the middle and received action from both opponents. The action went check, check when the {2-Diamonds} fell on the turn, but when the {A-Spades} came on the river, the UTG player fired a 4,000 bullet, which went uncalled.

At the showdown, the UTG player tabled {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} for the nuts and Haxton mucked his hand before quietly exiting the tournament area.

Khouiss Hits 80k

Aussie Sam Khouiss is up to 80,000 now after eliminating an unknown opponent from the tournament.

A player in the cutoff position opened with a raise to 1,800 and Adam Junglen made the call from the button. The action then fell on Khouiss in the small blind who kicked it up to 8,000. The big blind flat called, as did the cutoff; Junglen released his hand.

The flop came {5-Spades}{10-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and Khouiss fired a bet large enough to put his opponent all-in. A call was made and a showdown ensued:

Khouiss: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Opponent: {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

The turn card was the {8-Spades} giving Khouiss' opponent the lead in the hand with two pair, but the {5-Hearts} that fell on the river gave Khouiss aces up for the win.
