A Failed Bluff By "The Croc"

On a board of {7-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {A-Hearts} {4-Spades} the small blind checks and Billy "The Croc" Argyros bets 4,000 from the cut off. The small blind thinks for a few moments and makes the call with {7-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} for the low end of the straight.

The Croc says "Wow. Nice call" and is left with only 1,000 and an additional red add on chip.

Cohen-Landrum Triples to 33k

Sabyl Cohen-Landrum found herself all in preflop holding {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs} against two opponents -- one with pocket aces and the other with pocket sevens.

Unfortunately for the player with aces, both Sabyl and the guy with sevens managed to spike sets when the flop came {7-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}. The turn and river delivered running nines and Sabyl's jacks full took down the pot, worth right around 33,000 in chips.

Phil Ivey

After a flop of {K-Clubs} {4-Spades} {2-Spades} Lyle Berman was all in against Phil Ivey.

L. Berman: {K-Spades} {Q-Spades} {10-Hearts} {8-Clubs}
Ivey: {K-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {3-Hearts}

The board filled out {K-Clubs} {4-Spades} {2-Spades} {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} giving Ivey the wheel and the pot. He eliminates Lyle Berman from the tournament.

Phil Ivey may have only arrived 50 minutes ago, but he is already making his presence known, chipping up to 50,000 in less than one level of play.

Green Light to Double Up

Barry G
Barry G
Barry Greenstein has just doubled through to 19,000 after surviving an all-in confrontation against an unknown opponent.

Greenstein's opponent opened the pot with a raise to 800 from middle position and Barry re-popped it to 3,200. His opponent made the call and the two saw a {5-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{K-Spades} flop.

First to act, Greenstein's opponent made a pot-sized bet, putting Barry all-in (5,950) and a call was made:

Greenstein: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Opponent: {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}{9-Hearts}{A-Spades}

The turn and river filled out {4-Hearts}, {6-Diamonds} and Greenstein took down the pot with two pair, jacks and fours.

Chau Giang Eliminates an Opponent

Chau Giang
Chau Giang
On a board of {Q-Hearts} {J-Spades} {3-Hearts} {7-Clubs}, the small blind bet 4,000 and Chau Giang made the call from the big blind. The river brought the {9-Hearts} and the small blind checked with only 300 behind. Chau bet enough to put him all in and he made the call.

Chau showed {A-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} for the nut flush and eliminates his opponent. Chau now has 18,000 and two add on chips.

Frickin' River

Jimmy Fricke
Jimmy Fricke
Down to his last 400 in chips, Jimmy Fricke tossed them all into the middle from under-the-gun. His bet received four callers, including Bruno Fitoussi in the big blind.

All sidepot contestants checked the {5-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Spades} board all the way down to the river, when one of the limpers (the cutoff) fired a 1,000 bet. Everyone folded, sending the hand to a showdown, but Fricke mucked after seeing his opponent table {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for a rivered set.
