After Brett Richey completed, Blair Rodman raised. Richey made the call. On fourth, fifth, and sixth, Richey fired each time with Rodman calling. On seventh, Richey fired again and this time, all Rodman could do was chuckle and then fold with a look of disgust on his face.

Richey is up to 36,000.

I Wanna Be Like Ville

Over on Mike Matusow's table, the topic of discussion is Finnish wunderkind Ville Wahlbeck, who has thus far notched a first, a second, and a third place finish at the WSOP, all in $10,000 buy-in events.

"I don't get anywhere" moaned Matusow. "I just don't win pots."

In this event, he hasn't won any... or lost any either, his stack at 29,850.

Scotty Nguyen just scooped a big three-way pot with just a pair of aces after missing his low. His final seven cards showed {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {4-Spades} in no particiular order. His opponent held just a pair of jacks and the pot totaled about 4,200 chips for a nice earlier addition to Scotty's stack.

Dario Minieri completed on third street and bet out the whole way, until his opponent made the high board on sixth street with his open pair of fours and checked. Minieri bet, got called, and was called again on seventh street.

Minieri's kings and deuces bested his opponent's queens and fours and with neither player making a low, he scooped the pot.

That's right folks, we're back here again for another world championship event. This time around, it's going to be the $10,000 Seven-Card Stud Hi/Lo World Championship. The buy in has been doubled since the previous year, hoping to increase the prizepool and make the win a more prestigious one.

Last year saw Sebastian Ruthenberg conquer a field of 261 entrants and a final table that included the likes of Marcel Luske, Annie Duke, Steve Sung, Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, and Alessio Isaia en route to claiming his first WSOP gold bracelet. First-place money was worth nearly $330,000.

As with most world championship events this year, the field should be jam packed with the biggest names in poker and the best players around. Play is slated to begin at 5:00 PM local time. You better be ready for all the seventh-street squeezes and split pots you can handle!
