Cantu Back on Top

Remember what we said about big pots and big swings? Brandon Cantu has gone from last place to first place in the span of just a few hands. Sitting in the big blind, he called a raise to 90,000 made by Mathieu Jacqmin from the button. Cantu opened for 195,000 on a flop of {A-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}, a bet that Jacqmin raised to 500,000. It seemed that Cantu meant to go all in at that point but announced just a call.

It didn't matter. The rest of Cantu's 135,000 chips were in on the {2-Spades} turn. Jacqmin called with {A-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {J-Hearts}, a live four and two pair. Cantu had him beat the low with {A-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {3-Clubs}, a live trey. The river {4-Hearts} gave Cantu a wheel to scoop the whole pot.

Cantu is up to 1.465 million, while Jacqmin slipped back to 815,000.
