Jason DeWitt raised from the button and then Karga Holt moved all in for about 330,000 total from the big blind. After some deliberation, DeWitt made the call with {A-Diamonds} {9-Spades}. Holt held {K-Spades} {8-Clubs} and was behind, but did have live cards.

The flop paired up Holt, coming {K-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {3-Diamonds}. The turn brought the {Q-Clubs} and the river the {8-Hearts}, giving Holt two pair. He was able to double up through DeWitt and move to about 700,000 chips.

Noda Doubles Up

Poker is easy sometimes. Michael Noda looked down at {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} and shipped his last 243,000 into the middle. Jason Somerville re-raised to isolate Noda, but he had a worse hand -- {9-Clubs} {9-Diamonds}. There was no help for Somerville on a board of {4-Clubs} {10-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {4-Diamonds}. Noda doubled up to 531,000 while Somerville dropped to 350,000.

Variation on a Theme

Many of our hands today have been won with either a single preflop raise or a preflop raise followed by a preflop re-raise. So it was nice to see a variation on that theme in a pot won by Jason DeWitt. DeWitt opened to 50,000 from middle position. Benjamin Gilbert was next to act and reraised to 175,000. Michael Katz was in the small blind and tanked for a minute before folding.

With all players folding, DeWitt put in a fourth raise to 410,000. That was enough to produce a fold from Gilbert.

Somerville Doesn't Want to Fold... but Does

Jason Somerville opened the action preflop with a raise that was called by only Jason DeWitt. On a flop of {Q-Diamonds} {j-Hearts} {J-Spades}, Somerville fired out 95,000. Dewitt called to the {7-Clubs} turn, which both players checked. The river double-paired the board {Q-Spades}. Somerville checked to DeWitt, who thoughtfully bet 155,000. Somerville went into the tank for two full minutes before folding.

Noda Missed the Memo

Action passed to Karga Holt in late position. He opened for 60,000, then looked like he wanted to vomit when big blind and short stack Michael Noda moved all in for an additional 178,000.

Noda rolled his eyes and stared at the ceiling for a few moments. "I was waiting for *his* big blind to raise," Holt told the rail to some scattered laughs.

He looked at Noda. "You of all people were supposed to be the one who folded."

After a few more moments of agonizing, Holt mucked. "Short stack raises but doesn't go all in. That's supposed to be powerful!"

Noda Gets In On the Action, But Loses

It turns out, Michael Noda is at this final table, we just haven't heard much from him.

On the hand, Noda moved all in from the button and was called by William Erickson in the small blind. Erickson held {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} and Noda had {A-Spades} {3-Clubs}. The board ran out nice and clean as far as Erickson was concerned when it came {K-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {8-Spades} and Noda suffered the blow. He is down to 190,000 while Erickson doubled to 400,000.
