Bansi Holds

We're not sure how the chips all wound up in the middle between Praz Bansi and Peter "Nordberg" Feldman. We just know that on a flop of {5-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {10-Hearts}, Bansi was ahead with {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and needed to fade a heart against Feldman's {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Neither the turn {4-Diamonds} nor the river {8-Clubs} was a heart, allowing Bansi to take down the pot with two pair, tens and nines.

Bansi is up to about 90,000 now, while Feldman has fallen to 67,000.

Tehan, Gowen Hit The Rail

I'm all in
I'm all in
Karga Holt opened the pot to 4,100, Clonie Gowen then went all in for her remaining 21,000. Holt made the call.

Holt:{8-?} {8-?}
Gowen: {A-?} {Q-?}

The board would brick out for Gowen and she is sent to the rail.

At the same time at the adjacent table we found Joe Tehan all in on the turn for around 40,000 with the board reading {9-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {6-Hearts} . His opponent Tim Horan tanked for a minute or two and made the call.

Tehan showed {8-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} for middle pair and a heart flush draw.

Horan showed {J-Diamonds} {J-Spades} and gave a solid fist pump when he saw he was leading.

The river was {4-Spades} and Tehan is eliminated.

How Did Schwartz Miss?

Noah Schwartz runs bad this hand.
Noah Schwartz runs bad this hand.
The chips were all in preflop between short-stacked Noah Schwartz and his slightly shorter-stacked opponent. "I don't have much," said Schwartz as he opened {A-Clubs} {8-Spades}. His opponent showed {7-Hearts} {7-Spades}.

There were some murmurings from the table on a flop of {j-Spades} {q-Diamonds} {10-Spades}. Those murmurings grew louder when the turn paired the board, {J-Hearts}.

"Now that's a sweat card," remarked Tony Dunst.

With Schwartz's opponent cringing, the dealer burned and turned a blank river, {7-Diamonds}. Schwartz was forced to pay of 15,500, leaving just 3,000 in his stack.

"Any card eight or higher except a jack," said Schwartz. "So sick."

From Second in Chips to Out

Harris Pavlou began the day second in chips, but has failed to make it to the first break as he just recently busted.

Pavlou was all in holding pocket jacks against Jason DeWitt's {A-?} {K-?}. The action was unknown, but a king on the flop, a king on the turn, and an ace on the river was what did Pavlou in and sent him to the rail.

DeWitt on the other hand, has 300,000 in chips.

Table of Death Breaks

The tournament staff are finally ready to break Table 70 -- and it's really too bad. Consolidation of players from other broken tables has created a mega Table of Death. In order around the table were:

Seat 1: Jeff Lisandro
Seat 2: (Unknown)
Seat 3: Nick Binger
Seat 4: Harris Pavlou
Seat 5: Roy Winston
Seat 6: Nenad Medic
Seat 7: (Unknown)
Seat 8: Shane Schleger
Seat 9: Maria Ho

The players have now been scattered amongst the remaining 12 tables.

Taylor Over 200K

On a board of {8-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {5-Spades}, a player fired out 29,000 into James Taylor. Only a few moments passed before Taylor fired back with an all-in bet. The current pot sat at over 50,000 chips. After a few minutes in tank, the player released his hand and the dealer passed the pot to Taylor. Taylor is now over 200,000 chips.

Baron Looked Up by Ducks

Action folded to Isaac Baron the button. He opened with a raise to 4,200 that was called by the small blind (Sergey Rybachenko) and Johnny Lodden in the big blind. All three players checked a flop that came down {7-Spades} {6-Spades} {K-Hearts}. Action checked to Baron again on the turn {3-Diamonds}. He fired out 8,400, a bet that was only called by Rybachenko.

The river was the {10-Hearts}. Again Rybachenko checked. Baron looked like he might want to fire at the pot one last time, then reluctantly checked behind. Rybachenko showed {2-Diamonds} {2-Spades}, a lowly pair of deuces. That was enough for the win.

Relax!

As per usual, John Juanda is getting a massage. Directly across the table from him, Noah Schwartz flagged down a massage therapist as well and turned his chair around to prepare for his own massage, making it seem like the two men were facing off.

"Whoever busts first has to pay for the other's massage?" Schwartz joked with Juanda. It wasn't a good deal for Schwartz; his 16,000 chips are at a severe disadvantage to Juanda's 42,000.

Goodbye to Sandra

Sandra Naujoks began the day with over 50,000 chips, but failed to make it out of the first level of the day. On her final hand, she checked the flop of {9-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} to her opponent. He bet out 12,000 chips and Naujoks went into the tank. She then raised all in, only to be snapped off immediately by her opponent who held {A-Diamonds} {5-Hearts}, for a pair and the nut flush draw. Naujoks did have some straight and pair outs with her {7-Diamonds} {6-Spades}.

The turn brought the {10-Diamonds} and unfortunately, that would be it for Naujoks. The river was the meaningless {9-Clubs} to pair to the board and officially end things.
