Tilly Gone; Smurfit Short

Jennifer Tilly has left the Miranda Room. According to Layne Flack, Tilly got her chips in after turning a 6-high flush, and lost to a 10-high flush after a fourth heart landed on the river.

Across in the Brasilia Room, Alan Smurfit surrendered some chips after betting out 600 on a board of {6-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{4-Spades}. When he got check-raised all in for an additional 1,700, Smurfit laid his hand down, leaving him with just 1,825.

Missing And Presumed Lost

During the break the last few tables in the red section broke into the main tournament floor.

In the transition we lost Jonathan Little and the short-stacked Phil Hellmuth.

Both are assumed to be eliminated, but we'll be keeping an eye out for them!

Hellmuth Returns

Finally Phil Hellmuth has returned, and within a few hands he was into the action.

With a limp under the gun, Hellmuth limped as well with the blinds completing.

The flop fell down {A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and the limper bet out 200. Hellmuth paused for a while before announcing a raise to 450 and tossing in a 500-denomination chip.

With the action now on the small blind he raised to 1,400 to force folds round the table. As Hellmuth went to fold, his {K-Spades}{2-Spades} flipped up.

"I had you beat!" he stated to the first preflop aggressor.

"No! I had an Ace" he stated as Hellmuth slipped to 2,000 in chips.

Mercier Shows Some Kindness

Jason Mercier raised to 525 from the button and the big blind moved all in for an additional 500. Mericer made the call and showed {J-Spades}{7-Spades} vs. his opponent's {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

When the board ran {A-Spades}{7-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, his opponent's hand held and he doubled up. Mercier still has comfortable stack of about 12,000.

"I Like Her Technique"

After busting out of today's tourney, Phil Laak stopped by to sweat girlfriend Jennifer Tilly. Layne Flack started laughing at Laak's attempts to sneak a peek at her cards, prompting Laak to pipe up "I like her technique. I'm standing right behind her, and I can't see a thing."

As it turns out, Tilly's cards weren't worth much after she called a preflop raise of 600 from the button. When her opponent led out for 500 more on a flop of {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}, Tilly mucked her hand. She has about 6,000 left in her stack.
