Paging Mr. Hellmuth

Yes you are hiding . . . and we are looking
Yes you are hiding . . . and we are looking
After chipping up to over 7,000 early, Phil Hellmuth has been nowhere to be seen.

He arrived an hour late, played for 20 minutes and then departed once again.

So far his stack has dwindled down to just on 5,000, and with the blinds still low he isn't at too much risk.

The question is . . . where is he?

Gavin Smith Gets Flushed

Gavin Smith
Gavin Smith
We walked by just as Gavin Smith moved his stack into the middle on a flop of {J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. His opponent called and showed {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for the draw against Smith's top pair with {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}.

The {A-Diamonds} on the turn took the hand away from Smith and he was up from the table before the meaningless {8-Clubs} landed on the river.

Also eliminated from the table was Emily Jillette who got all in preflop with pocket queens only to find herself against kings. She didn't improve, and her day ended early.

Tran Surging

Catching the action on the turn with the board reading {K-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{9-Hearts} Theo Tran led out for 1,800 with his opponent check-calling out of the small blind.

The river landed the {7-Clubs} and Tran's opponent moved all in for 2,300. Tran insta-called and tabled his {Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a flush to best his opponents {A-Spades}{2-Clubs}.

As Tran raked in the pot to surge to 25,200 in chips, he continued to enjoy his intensive massage.

Elezra Gets In Late - Leaves Early

We made our way back to the Miranda room where Eli Elezra had made a late entrance.

When we caught up with him, he had just 1,400 chips and called a raise of 250 from out of the small blind. He and his opponents checked a flop of {J-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, and Elezra check-folded after a bet of 500 at the {K-Spades} on the turn.

He was left with 1,150 at the end of the hand, and had vacated his seat by the time we returned again five minutes later.

Other recent eliminations include David "The Dragon" Pham and Devin Porter.
