Madsen Eliminated

Madsen sent packing
Madsen sent packing
Jeff Madsen has been eliminated from the tournament after seeing his {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} run down by the small blind's {K-Spades}{9-Spades}.

The board ran out {6-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} after all the money went in preflop to see Madsen exit to the rail.

Traniello Turns Away

Marco Traniello
Marco Traniello
The hijack raised to 550 and Marco Traniello called out of the big blind, taking us to a flop of {6-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{3-Spades}.

After Traniello check-called 800, we saw the {Q-Spades} on the turn. Traniello checked again and his opponent bet out 1,400. Traniello studied the board for awhile before reluctantly releasing his hand.

Grinder Gets Aggressive

When the button raised to 500 pre, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi called from the big blind.

Mizrachi then check-called an additional 700 after a flop of {3-Spades}{8-Hearts}{K-Clubs} and took the lead, betting 4,000 at the {2-Hearts} on the turn. The bet was enough to put his opponent all in - an option he chose to avoid by mucking his hand.

Kostritsyn Eliminates Opponent

With a limp under the gun, Alexander Kostritsyn bumped it to 750 from the hi-jack. The blinds passed and the limper made the call.

The flop fell down {A-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Kostritsyn called a 500-chip bet from his opponent.

When the turn landed the {8-Clubs} Kostritsyn was again faced with a bet; this time to 1,000. Kostritsyn checked his cards before raising to 1,550 to put his opponent all in; with his opponent following suit and making the call for his tournament life.

Kostritsyn - {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Opponent - {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The river landed the {7-Clubs} and Kostritsyn sent a player to the rail as he climbed to 13,400 in chips.

Notable Stacks

We found Maya Gellar hidden in the middle of the room with a very playable stack of about 8,000. Nearby, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi is also sitting with 8K, while Alan Smurfit has 5,000.

Harraghy Eliminated

Paul "Nine-Duey" Harraghy made a standard preflop raise and got one caller before going heads up to a flop of jack-9-9.

Harraghy pushed the rest of his stack in the middle and got called again before he turned up ace-jack only to find his opponent held kings. A king on the turn only made things worse for Harraghy who said "I should have shoved earlier with nine-deuce. I would have have hit trip 9s."

Random Hands From Around the Room

We walked by an outer table in time to catch a three-way all in where the players were showing pocket jacks, pocket kings, and ace-king off suit.

When the board ran {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, the cowboys held we had a triple up, and elimination, and a crippled stack.

Meanwhile, on an adjacent table, we had a preflop raise, a reraise to 1,050 from the small blind, and a shove for an additional 1,450 from the original early position raiser.

A call from the small blind and we saw the hands.

Small Blind: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Early Position: {A-Spades}{8-Spades}

A flop of {9-Spades}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts} didn't change a thing, though the {5-Spades} on the turn brought some flush outs. They didn't arrive with the {5-Diamonds} on the river, and another player left the room.

Richard Lee Clipped

On a board reading {3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts} Richard Lee led out for 2,000 into two players.

One opponent folded, but one was stubborn enough to throw in two yellow 1,000-denomination chips to signify a call.

"If you have the flush you have me" said Lee's opponent.

"No you got it" announced Lee as he turned over his {5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for a busted straight draw and rivered pair.

His opponent turned over {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for a flopped set of treys and the pot to leave Lee on less then 2,000 in chips.

A Quickie

Blair Hinkle raised to 400 from middle position and Phil Laak quickly reraised to 1,300. Action folded back to Hinkle who decided his hand wasn't worth the extra chips, handing the small pot to the Unabomber.
