Kara Carries On

Kara Scott was just involved in an all-in hand -- of great consequence to her opponent, but not so much to her.

A player at her table had become severely short-stacked, and had moved his last 650 into the middle following a {5-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop. Scott called with her {A-Spades}{K-Spades}, while the player who was all in had {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a pair of fives.

The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and the river the {10-Diamonds}, and Scott's opponent survived -- for now. Meanwhile, she has 33,900.

The Professor Provides Some Luck From the Rail

Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel
On a flop of {8-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {4-Clubs}, Erik Seidel bet 800 from the small blind and Brian "tsarrast" Rast called from the big blind. The turn and river both checked when the {Q-Hearts} fell followed by the {J-Diamonds}. Seidel tabled {9-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} and Rast mucked.

During the hand, Howard Lederer was sweating Seidel from behind him. After Seidel won the hand, he turned to Lederer and said, "Just stand right there."

On the next hand, Seidel raised to 700 from the button and Rast called from the small blind. The flop came down {K-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {4-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn brought the {2-Diamonds} and again action checked. The river was the {8-Clubs}, and both players checked one last time.

Rast showed the {A-Hearts} followed by the {9-Clubs} for ace-high. Seidel then tabled {A-Diamonds} {10-Spades} for a better ace-high and won the pot.

One of the railbirds looked at the seemingly lucky Lederer and said, "What are you doing tomorrow? Come watch me."

"I'll be playing," responded The Professor with a grin.

Gruzglin Not Strugglin'

Introducing our new chip leader, Vadim Gruzglin, who now sits atop of our leaderboard with 118,000 chips thanks to a massive three-way all in hand.

The action flop was {10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{K-Clubs} and Gruzglin had two opponents all in.

Gruzglin: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Unhappy Opponent 1: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Unhappy Opponent 2: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Top pair versus set versus set was all in took for a 100,000 chip pot to develop as Gruzglin had his opponents in terrible shape.

The turn was the {5-Clubs} and river the {9-Hearts} and Gruzglin busts two players to rake in the chips and secure a massive lead over the field.

Paris Getting Larger

Paris Heard bet out 750 on a flop of {Q-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {6-Spades}. Brian "tsarrast" Rast raised to 3,000 and Heard made the call.

The turn brought the {9-Diamonds} and Heard checked. Rast fired a healthy bet of 4,500. Heard stood his ground and made the call.

The river was the {K-Clubs} and Heard checked. Rast checked behind.

Heard tabled top two pair, holding the {K-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} in his hand, and Rast mucked.

Heard - 57,000
Rast - 11,700

Levick Up

There was a raise in early position and small blind Chris Levick called; the big blind called too and they saw a flop.

Flop: {J-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {4-Diamonds}

None of the players apparently liked it enough to bet, and instead they checked around.

Turn: {2-Diamonds}

Now Levick bet out 1,300 and Mr. Big Blind called; the original raiser got out of the way and Levick and the big blind proceeded to the river.

River: {6-Clubs}

Levick bet out 1,800 this time and once again the big blind called -- but Levick tabled {A-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}, and a swift big blind muck later, the pot was his.

He's up to 38,000.

Berger in a Pickle

On the Table Of Doom, Barry Berger has experienced some moderate doom and is down to 31,850.

He made it to the river of the {3-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {7-Spades} {6-Hearts} {K-Clubs} board and was faced with a 13,300 bet from his opponent -- he folded, showing the {K-Hearts}. To what must have been Berger's dreadful dismay, his opponent showed him {A-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}. Ouch.

Tough Times (and Timing) for Pham

David "The Dragon" Pham just can't get on track today. A player raised in early position to 550, then a player in middle position tossed out a yellow (1,000) chip and two greens (25). His action was interpreted as a raise, even though he said he meant just to call and get change for his bet.

Pham then reraised to 3,050 from late position. The blinds and initial raiser folded, and the accidental reraiser made the call.

The flop came {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{K-Clubs}, and the MP player fired out 6,000. Pham said he thought the player had something like king-jack and folded. The player showed {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} as he dragged the pot.

The Dragon is now down to 7,000.

Levy Busts One

Grant Levy
Grant Levy
With a limper from under the gun, Grant Levy popped it up to 800 to play from middle position. The table folded around and the limper decided to play.

The flop fell {2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and the action checked to Levy who made a continuation bet of 1,350. The UTG player thought for a moment before declaring "4,000" and tossing out a single orange chip.

Levy asked for a count and discovered the UTG player only had 2,300 more behind. Levy grabbed a stack of yellow chips and put his opponent all in, who quickly made a committed call.

Levy: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}
UTG: {9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The turn was the {Q-Diamonds} and river the {5-Spades} and Levy takes it down to move up to 65,000 chips.

After some friendly ribbing from table mate and fellow Australian Andrew Scott about how Levy makes the game look easy, Levy defended by saying, "That was the first player I've busted for the whole WSOP! How does he not hit a ten?"
