Ahmadian Put to the Test

Tough decision, but Ahmadian made the right move
Tough decision, but Ahmadian made the right move
In the last hand before the break, Matt Gianetti raised to 2,100 in preflop action and Elia Ahmadian called. The big blind called as well. The three players took a flop of {9-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {2-Spades} and everyone checked.

The turn brought the {10-Hearts}. Action checked to Ahmadian and he bet out 3,800. The big blind folded and then Gianetti called.

The river produced the {K-Clubs} and Gianetti checked again. Ahmadian fired a bet of 6,000. Gianetti took his time and then put in a raise to 17,500. Ahmadian had exactly 22,500 left and looked pained. He tanked for a few minutes into the break. "This is so sick, so sick!" he complained. "There's just too much out there."

Finally, Ahmadian tossed in the call. "Ace high," announced Gianetti.

"What?" questioned Ahmadian.

"Ace high," Gianetti said again, tabling {A-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}.

Ahmadian turned up {K-Spades} {Q-Clubs} for a pair of kings and the winning hand to put him back up to 55,900.

The Brad Garrett Show is Over

Brad=Busto
Brad=Busto
4,000 was in the pot on the {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {9-Diamonds} flop. Brad Garrett led out for 3,000, Peter Kremenliev raised to 7,000 from the cutoff and Garrett made the call as ESPN's cameras and the media swarmed the table. It was showtime for Garrett as the dealer burned and turned the {3-Diamonds}.

"That was not what I wanted!" cried Garrett in mock anger. He checked, and Kremenliev bet 10,000.

"I do not have a flush draw," said Garrett. "But I do have a pair... I have almost top pair and an average kicker," he said as he made the call.

The river was the {4-Hearts}. Garrett checked, Krememliev bet 20,300 and Garrett called all in.

Garrett indeed showed almost top pair and an average kicker with {Q-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}, but it was no match for Kremenliev's two pair with {Q-Clubs} {9-Clubs} and he was eliminated, much to the chargin of the gathered crowd.

Bechtel Builds His Stack

On a flop of {3-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, Jim Bechtel check-called a bet of 7,000 from his opponent on the button.

Both players then checked the {3-Spades} on the turn and Bechtel check-called an additional 10,000 bet after the {K-Clubs} landed on the river.

When his opponent showed {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}, Bechtel showed {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and took the pot. He now has 95,500.

Erik Seidel Doubles Up

Erik Seidel led out for 8,000 on the {J-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {2-Clubs} flop. His middle position opponent called and they went to the turn, which fell the {Q-Hearts}. Seidel moved all in and his opponent called.

Seidel's {A-Spades} {A-Hearts} was up against {K-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}. The river blanked with the {10-Hearts} and Seidel doubled up to 56,000.

That'll Teach Him!

"You always raise my blinds," said Sam Farha from the big blind after the button raised to 2,200. "Always."

Farha called the raise to a flop of {6-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {3-Hearts}. Both players checked. When the turn fell {4-Diamonds}, Farha bet 5,000. The button player folded, prompting Farha to show that he had flopped a straight, {5-Spades} {4-Spades}.

That One Stings

After a series of preflop raises, a player was all in with {K-Clubs} {K-Hearts} against the {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} of his opponent.

Just when all seemed lost for the player holding kings, the dealer peeled off the three cards from the top of the deck. As she flipped them over, the table let out a gasp as everyone caught a glimpse at the door card - the {K-Diamonds} .

Unfortunatly for the player with kings, the flop fanned out {A-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} giving his opponent the higher set.

The turn and river failed to bring the case king and after being teased with a monster suck out, the player holding kings was eliminated.
