His Heart Will Go On

Rene Angelil moved all in from the big blind for his remaining 15,300 on a flop of {8-Spades} {6-Hearts} {5-Spades} and the button made the call.

Angelil showed {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} for the overpair while the button turned up {8-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} for top pair and an open-ended straight draw. The turn was the {10-Spades}, but the {9-Clubs} on the river made the button's straight, eliminating Angelil.

Baron the Bully

Five players saw a limped flop of {10-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and action checked around to the turn, which brought the {5-Spades}.

When a player in middle position finally bet 2,100, action folded back to Isaac Baron in the small blind, who check-raised to 7,000. When his opponent folded, Baron added some valuable chips to his stack which now stands at 27,400.

Farha Kickers Opponent Out

On a flop of {5-Spades} {A-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}, Sam Farha checked from early position to his late-position opponent. That player bet 2,300, then moved all in for 17,000 total after Farha made a small raise to 5,000 total. Farha called with {A-Hearts} {J-Clubs}, having flopped top two pair. he was ahead of his opponent's one pair, {A-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}. The board ran out {5-Diamonds} and {A-Diamonds} to give Farha a full house and the win. He's up to 74,500.

Amarillo Slim Preston
Amarillo Slim Preston
Amarillo Slim Preston and two opponents all got their stacks in the middle before the flop.

Player 1: {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Player 2: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Preston: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

When the board ran {7-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, Preston four-flushed the nuts and eliminated both opponents. His stack now stands at 45,000.

Scott Still Climbing

Kara Scott was all smiles after picking off a bluff in a recent hand. Scott had the button and reraised preflop to 3,000 after a player opened from middle position to 1,025. That player called and check-called another 4,000 on a flop of {2-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {A-Diamonds}. When the turn fell {2-Clubs}, Scott's opponent led into her for 6,700. Scott called that bet and then found herself facing a hefty bet of 17,500 on the {6-Diamonds} river. Scott called again.

"Nice hand," her opponent said, mucking his hand. Scott opened {A-Hearts} {3-Hearts} for two pair, aces and deuces, and collected the pot. Her count climbed to 63,000.

Brunson Gets Rivered

On a board of {K-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, Todd Brunson check-called his opponent's bet of 2,600. The river brought the {7-Spades} and Brunson check-called another 5,100.

His opponent turned over {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} saying "I rivered a set." He actually had a full house, but the difference didn't mean anything to Brunson who tossed his hand in the muck. He's down to 28,000.

Brunson Loses a Little More at the Break

In his last hand before the break, Todd Brunson limped from under the gun before calling the big blind's raise to 1,500.

Both players checked down to the river on a board of {4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades} before the big blind finally led out for 1,000. Brunson called and mucked when his opponent showed {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs} for the flush. Brunson finished the level with 26,500.

Seidel's Hand Full of Win

Erik Seidel's hand played itself. Down to just 5,525 chips, Seidel put them all at risk with {A-Spades} {Q-Clubs} after an opponent open-raised for 1050. That opponent called with {A-Hearts} {10-Spades}, then watched the board run out {Q-Diamonds} {k-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {9-Spades} to give Seidel a double-up.

Sexton Makes Three Pair

Mike Sexton
Mike Sexton
Mike Sexton raised to 1,100 first in from the cutoff seat, and the player next to him reraised to 3,800. Sexton made the call, and the heads-up flop came {Q-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {9-Clubs}. Both players checked to see the {7-Clubs} hit the turn. Sexton bet this time, and his opponent called 3,500. Both players checked again when the {8-Diamonds} fell on the river.

Sexton tabled {9-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} for three pair, but only the queens and nines counted, and it was good. His opponent showed {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts} and the dealer mucked his ace high. Sexton is up to 49,000.
