Going Dwan

Hmm
Hmm
Tom Dwan doubled up somewhere along the line, but is down to 47,000 after raising to 1,350 under the gun and then calling a shove from the button for 7,400.

Couldn't have been much worse, really.

Dwan: {K-Diamonds} {10-Spades}
Mr. Button: {A-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}

Board: {7-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}

Bernard Lee Startin' Off Positive

Bernard Lee just got off to a decent start to the day. According to him, he raised it up to 1,400 with pocket queens from the hijack seat and only the small blind called. The flop came {7-?} {4-?} {3-?} and the player checked to Lee. Lee fired 1,650 and was called.

The turn brought an {8-?}. Lee's opponent check-called a bet of 2,200. The river was a {10-?} and Lee fired a bet after his opponent checked. The player folded and Lee moved up to 31,000.

Somerville Doubles

Jason Somerville during Day 1d action
Jason Somerville during Day 1d action
Catching the action on the river with the board reading {10-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{10-Spades}, Jason Somerville found himself up against two opponents.

One moved all in, another called for his tournament life, and with the action now on Somerville he was face with a decision for all his chips.

Somerville called, and was up against {Q-Spades}{J-Spades} for a flopped straight and {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a flopped flush.

However Somerville would be able to breath a sigh of relief when he tabled his {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for the nut flush and the pot as he climbed to over 112,000 in chips.

Dion Doubles, Sprengers Slips

From the main feature table, where Phil Hellmuth appears to have chipped up a bit to 35,000 while Todd Witteles continues to nurse his short stack, we just had an all-in confrontation between Yann Dion and Ben Sprengers.

Dion committed his stack of 35,900 with {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and was up against Sprengers' {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}. The flop came {A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, putting Dion into the lead. The turn was the {5-Hearts} and the river the {4-Clubs}, and Dion doubles up. Sprengers slips to 80,000.

Brown Gives It Up To Min-Raise

With around 5,000 in the pot on a flop of {6-Clubs}{K-Spades}{9-Hearts}, the action checked to Rick Troendly on the button who fired a bet 3,000. The small blind made the call as did Chad Brown in the big blind.

The turn brought the {Q-Diamonds} and action checked around before the {9-Spades} fell on the river. The small blind checked and Brown took a stab with a bet of 5,000. Troendly then min-raised it to 10,000. The small blind folded, and Brown raised his eyebrows and also mucked his hand.

The camera crew hovering, Troendly showed one for the cameras and revealed {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Brown slips to 67,000.

Bad to See You, River Ace

John Frantz raised from early position, and the table folded around to a short-stacked Andrew "good2cu" Robl who pushed all in for his last 10,000 or so from the big blind. Frantz called, showing {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades} to Robl's {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}.

Robl was okay until the turn, as the community cards came {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{K-Spades}, but the river brought the {A-Hearts}, giving the pot to Frantz and eliminating Robl.

"Good playing with you guys," said Robl, as he departed.

Frazer Wheels Out A Double

Ian Frazer and an opposing player saw a flop of {9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{A-Hearts} fall and all of Frazer's chips go into the middle.

Frazer: {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}

The turn and river landed the {2-Hearts} and {3-Clubs} to see Frazer make a runner-runner wheel to double through to over 30,000 in chips.
