Phillips Picks Up a Pot

One player checked the flop of {Q-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {2-Hearts} to Scott Seiver. Seiver bet out 5,200 before Lou Diamond Phillips called from the button. The first player then tank-folded.

The turn brought the {5-Hearts} and Seiver checked. Phillips bet out 15,000 and Seiver folded. Phillips showed only the {Q-Hearts} and then turned to Greg Raymer and pounded fists while Raymer congratulated him on the pot.

Kirk Climbing Back

All good for Kirk
All good for Kirk
Three players saw a limped flop of {6-Spades}{J-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}; including Kirk Morrison out of the small blind.

The action was checked round to see the {8-Spades} fall on the turn and a bet of 1,500 from Morrison follow. The big blind passed, but the limper on the button made the call to see the river of the {3-Clubs} land.

Morrison checked to his opponent who opted with a bet of 3,100.

"Do you want me to call?" asked Morrison before continuing with, "do you have a Jack?"

"Can you beat a Jack?" asked his opponent.

"No" quipped Morrison before stating, "ahhh, allright I call"

Morrison turned over his {6-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for a lowly pair of sixes, but after his opponent mucked, Morrison raked in the pot to climb to over 145,000 in chips.

Big Bluff from Little Big Chip

With the pot about 50,000, Andy "Little Big Chip" Fields pushed his entire stack all in -- about 68,000 -- on a board of {7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, sending his opponent, Will Kassouf, into the tank.

Finally Kassouf emerged and folded, showing a queen as he did. Fields then showed his hand -- {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}.

Fields now has 118,000.

Wasicka Fades a Bunch of Outs

Paul Wasicka had called an opponent's all-in bet preflop with pocket jacks. The opponent held {K-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}.

The flop came down {8-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {2-Spades}, adding a flush draw to the opponent's two overcards. The turn brought the {10-Clubs} and the river the {2-Diamonds}.

Wasicka was able to fade all the outs and move up to 99,000.

Antics at Red 103

Upon rolling up to table 103 in the red section, Greg Raymer was hanging out chatting with Lou Diamond Phillips, Scott Seiver, and a few of the other players. Here's some of the quotes from the area.

Player - "Greg! Greg! You know what I wanna do? I wanna sit at the feature table with you, but have Hellmuth sandwiched between us. We can just jam it in and piss him off and then turn around and say things to his wife."

Raymer - "I'd just shove on Hellmuth because he doesn't want to get in with a flip."

Seiver - "Yeah, but there's the extra EV of sending Hellmuth on tilt."

Raymer - "I run so bad in the Main Event."

Joe Sebok - "Wow, this is where the party is. Even Raymer is here, this must be the jump off!"

Photographer - "I'm only shooting world champs, movie stars, and big boobs."

When Image Backfires

Vivek Rajkumar has been splashing around a lot lately, so it was natural that when he re-raised from the small blind following a late position raise, that the player in the big blind looked down at {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and decided it was the best hand.

The big blind moved all in for 28,000, the late position player folded, but Rajkumar snap-called with his {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}.

However the board favored the brave, as it fell {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} to give the BB player a pair of aces and the apologetic double up.

Rajkumar slips back to 75,000 chips.

ElkY Moving Up

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier has boosted his stack to 250,000.

With about 40,000 in the pot and the board reading {K-Spades} {8-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {2-Spades} {6-Hearts}, ElkY bet 39,000 on the river and his opponent called, showing {K-Hearts} {7-Hearts}.

ElkY tabled {8-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} for a full house and took down the pot.

Plastik Proves Durable

Isn't he rubbery?
Isn't he rubbery?
"7k to 100k in 10 minutes, not bad," said David Plastik, shortly after doubling up again to 100,000 with a little, "Woo hoo!"

The doubler-upper was Kevin O'Leary, who is down to just 11,000 after a good start today. We're guessing the chips went in on the flop...

Plastik: {A-?} {A-?}
O'Leary: {A-Hearts} {9-Hearts}

Board: had two hearts on the flop, but no third one appeared to crack Plastik's aces.
