Binger Bounce

Nick Binger is having an eventful last half-hour of play, it appears.

A short while ago a short-stacked player in the cutoff pushed all in with {A-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Binger called him from the big blind with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}.

The board came {3-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{5-Spades}, and yet another player hit the rail.

A few hands later, Binger was the one all in against another player who had him covered. Binger had {A-Clubs}{A-Spades} this time, and his opponent {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}.

The board came {2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts}, and Binger suddenly has 380,000 chips as the last level of the night winds down.

You Can Almost Smell the Cash...

Our big screen says 819 players remaining in the field which incredibly puts us within 171 players of the money. After starting today with 2,044 players we've lost around 60% of the field in five short levels of play! That's a rate of two players eliminated every minute!

There were whispers that we would continue tonight until the money is reached but that won't be the case. This tournament has plenty of slack in the schedule to remain on target without too many unnecessary late nights. Many short stacks are going to have a nervous night's sleep tonight!

Morrison Falls

Morrison sent packing
Morrison sent packing
We caught the action on the flop with the board reading {3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Kirk Morrison faced with a 16,000-chip bet.

Morrison opted to min-raise taking it to 32,000 total, and with only 7,800 behind he called for his tournament life when his opponent moved all in.

Morrison: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Opponent: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

The turn and river landed the {A-Diamonds} and {K-Diamonds} to see Morrison exit the tournament.

"Guys, best of luck, I enjoyed playing with you all and best of luck" were Morrison's last words as he walked around the table and individually shook each player's hand before departing.

Calling the Clock on Lou Diamond Phillips

One of the big stories of the day is the emergence of Lou Diamond Phillips, the Filipino-American star of stage and screen. During the last break, the decorated actor was cornered by Lynn Gilmartin for the latest installment of Calling the Clock. Which do you suppose he'd rather win this year, a Golden Globe or a golden bracelet? Check out his rapid-fire answers:

Saul Flops Good

The Man they call "BeL0WaB0Ve"
In a blind vs. blind battle, Kevin Saul check-raised his opponent all in on a {9-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {2-Hearts} flop. The big blind made the call and turned up {A-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}, only to realize he was drawing extremely thin against Saul's flopped flush with {K-Hearts} {5-Hearts}. The turn was the {7-Hearts}, the river was the {10-Diamonds} and the big blind hit the rail while Saul chipped up to 400,000.

Bulldozer!

Team PokerStars Pro Hevad Khan not saying anything about bulldozers
Team PokerStars Pro Hevad Khan not saying anything about bulldozers
As we all know, Hevad "RaiNKhAN" Khan left the bulldozer behind back in 2007. This year he has continued to maintain his decidedly non-bulldozery character introduced to us at last summer's WSOP.

With the board showing {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, Hevad Khan just had a shorter-stacked opponent all in holding {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for a pair of nines and a flush draw, while his opponent had {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} for the flopped set.

The turn was the {5-Spades}, and Khan was still behind. But the river was the {6-Hearts}, giving Khan the flush and eliminating his opponent. And there were no bulldozers.

Khan is back up to 255,000.

Hansen Gets Outdrawn

Former chip leader Brian Hansen is down to a still respectable 505,000 after he doubled up a short stack.

The chips went in before the flop, the suckout came after.

Hansen: {Q-Clubs} {Q-Spades}
Mr. Short Stack: {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}

Board: {3-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {J-Hearts}

Blair Hinkle Gets Shown the Bluff

A player in middle position opened the pot for a raise and Blair Hinkle reraised from the small blind for 22,200 more. His opponent made the call.

The flop came out {10-Spades} {4-Spades} {4-Clubs} and Hinkle led out for 40,000. His opponent immediately moved all in for 198,000 more.

Hinkle was sent into the tank for a few moments and his opponent called the clock on him. Hinkle seemed both a little surprised and slightly annoyed, as he was not taking an obscene amount of time to act on his hand. Nevertheless, a floorperson is called over and Hinkle is given a 60-second countdown.

With ten seconds left to go, Hinkle released his hand. His opponent then slammed his {9-Hearts} {8-Hearts} down to the felt, saying in an Irish accent, "That's how we do it in Ireland, boys!"

Blair Hinkle - 365,000

Arzoomanian Has Them Puzzled

The man from Down Under known as "Puzz", Paren Arzoomanian has just eliminated a short-stacked opponent.

Puzz held {A-?}{9-?} and was up against pocket kings, but the board ran out {8-?}{10-?}{J-?}{3-?}{Q-?} to give Puzz a straight and the pot to send his opponent to the rail.

Arzoomanian already has a major title to his credit this year with the ANZPT Sydney championship and will be looking for another deep run here at the WSOP as he's now up to 330,000 chips.

Big Slick is Rellie Good

Rellie Sigua
Rellie Sigua
Chance Kornuth raised to 7,600 from middle position before the very animated Rellie Sigua reraised from the big blind to 103,000. After taking a long time in the tank, Kornuth moved all in and Sigua snapped.

Sigua: {A-Spades} {K-Spades}
Kornuth: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}

"No queen dealer, no queen." said Sigua.

The board then ran out {8-Spades} {7-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {9-Clubs} and Sigua's ace-king high was good enough to scoop in the pot and eliminate Kornuth.

"That's why I did that." Sigua said, pertaining to his large reraise. "I put him on ace queen or ace jack and that's why I did that. I wanted him to think I had a small pair."
