Tournament Director Jack Effel has given the players some notes for the day.

* We will play four levels or until the elimination of 400 players, whichever comes first.

* Hand-for-hand play will start on the basis of how quickly players are being eliminated. There is no set number of players at which hand-for-hand will start.

Feature Table Fun

The main feature table may have the biggest name in the game, but it's the secondary feature table that's jam packed with talent today.

Phil Ivey, stacked at 371,000, is the only name player on ESPN's primary feature table as the day kicks off, and he'll be exciting to watch. But it's the table right next door we'll be paying close attention to, with Surindar Sunar, Burt Boutin, Bob Feduniak and defending champions Peter Eastgate and Joe Hachem all battling it out on the felt.

The Doors Open!

With about ten minutes left on the countdown clock to the start of Day 4, the doors have opened and players are streaming in. There's no Miranda Room any more; there's no Brasilia Room any more; and (thankfully) there are no tables near Buzio's seafood restaurant, a half mile down the hall. The last 789 players are all consolidated here in the Amazon Room.

141 of these players will go home with nothing more than a bad beat story and the satisfaction (and frustration) of having survived three days in the Main Event of the World Series of Poker. The other 648 players are guaranteed at least $21,365. Somewhere in this room are nine future millionaires.

Your overnight chip leader is a man well-known on the international poker circuit. Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier is the only player to end Day 3 with more than 1 million chips. He starts Day 4 in the pole position, with 1.3 million chips and a 400,000-chip lead on the player in second place, fellow Frenchman Ludovic Lacay.
