Bob Riley Eliminated

Roy Vazquez made it 45,000 to go from early position, Bob Riley moved all in for 210,000 fromthe hijack, and Vazquez made the call.

The board bricked out for Riley, running out {J-Clubs} {8-Spades} {2-Clubs} {6-Spades} {4-Hearts} to send him home in 168th place.

McMahon Moves On, Maimone Moves Up

Nick Maimone open-raised to 40,000 from under the gun, and Billy McMahon reraised all in for 491,000 from the hijack seat. It folded back to Matt Affleck in the big blind who tanked for a while, then let it go. Maimone wasted no time making the call.

Maimone showed {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}, and McMahon {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. After the hands were shown, Affleck said he'd folded pocket nines.

The flop came {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}{9-Spades} (Affleck would've flopped a full house, had he stayed). The turn was the {7-Clubs} and the river the {6-Clubs}, and McMahon is out in 169th place, earning $36,626 for his efforts.

Maimone is up to 1.392 million now.

Katchalov Getting Tricky

Gabriel Vezina raised and Bob Whalen flat-called. Eugene Katchalov called as well before Don Tran reraised to 105,000 on top of the first raise. Vezina reraised to 270,000 and Whalen folded. Katchalov was next to act and pounced on everyone with an all-in bet. Tran folded and then Vezina called over one of our reporters to show him his hand. He showed pocket queens to the reporter and then mucked.

Vezina is down to 1.2 million while Katchalov moved up to 3.8 million.

Affleck Passes 3 Million

Matt Affleck made it 38,000 to go from UTG, Nick Maimone flat-called from early position, and Cole South reraised to 60,000 from the button. Jim Routos called from the big blind and with the action back on Affleck, he four-bet to 200,000. Maimone tank-folded, South tank-folded and Routos...tank-folded.

With that pot, Affleck is up to 3,060,000.

Multi-way action is the story of the day so far at the featured table, and we join another five-handed pot just about to get going. Michael Jansen had raised to 40,000 to kick it off, and he found four callers on down the line.

The flop came out {3-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {9-Hearts}, and each of the five men tapped the felt in turn. Forth street brought the {8-Spades}. Miika Puumalainen was first to act from the small blind, and he led out with a bet of 140,000. Scott Sitron and Jansen folded, while both Clayton Newman and Tom Schneider put in the call.

The river came the {5-Spades}. Puulmainen checked this time, and Clayton Newman moved all in for close to 500,000. Schneider would think for a good while before releasing his hand. Puumalainen followed with a fold as well, sending the pot over to Newman.

Clayton's been easily the most active player at the main table so far, and he's been rewarded with a huge boost to his chip count. His 244,000-chip starting stack has multiplied into just about 1,300,000 now.

Akenhead Cut in Half

A hand between James Akenhead and Steven Begleiter started off typically enough. Action folded to Akenhead in the small blind and he put in a standard raise. Begleiter called to a flop of {9-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}.

With an ESPN camera crew materializing on cue, there was plenty of action to record. Akenhead checked to Begleiter, who bet 85,000 before Akenhead check-raised to 190,000. Begleiter was undeterred as he put in a three-bet to 380,000. Akenhead took his time considering that bet before electing to call.

The turn was a seeming blank, the {3-Spades}. Akenhead, sipping coffee from a tall disposable cup, checked. Beglieter made a huge bet of 850,000. Akenhead continued sipping his coffee, then cut out the 850,000 chips from his stack. He didn't immediately put them in the middle. A second camera crew came to the table before Akenhead silently slid the chips forward.

The river fell {7-Spades}. Akenhead checked.

"Two pair," said Begleiter as he checked behind. He showed down {9-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}, having rivered his second pair. Akenhead's eyes bugged out before he tilted his head back and stared at the ceiling in frustration. He mucked his hand and fell to 1.13 million. Begleiter is now up to about 3.8 million.

James Akenhead raised to 42,000. The next player in the pot was Steven Begleiter and he made the call. Herbie Gelman then reraised all in for 374,000 total. Akenhead ducked out of the way, but Begleiter made the call.

Gelman held {J-Spades} {10-Spades} against Begleiter's {A-Spades} {K-Clubs}.

The board ran out {9-Spades} {8-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {3-Diamonds}, doubling Gelman up to 740,000.
