The Professor Provides Some Luck From the Rail

Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel
On a flop of {8-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {4-Clubs}, Erik Seidel bet 800 from the small blind and Brian "tsarrast" Rast called from the big blind. The turn and river both checked when the {Q-Hearts} fell followed by the {J-Diamonds}. Seidel tabled {9-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} and Rast mucked.

During the hand, Howard Lederer was sweating Seidel from behind him. After Seidel won the hand, he turned to Lederer and said, "Just stand right there."

On the next hand, Seidel raised to 700 from the button and Rast called from the small blind. The flop came down {K-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {4-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn brought the {2-Diamonds} and again action checked. The river was the {8-Clubs}, and both players checked one last time.

Rast showed the {A-Hearts} followed by the {9-Clubs} for ace-high. Seidel then tabled {A-Diamonds} {10-Spades} for a better ace-high and won the pot.

One of the railbirds looked at the seemingly lucky Lederer and said, "What are you doing tomorrow? Come watch me."

"I'll be playing," responded The Professor with a grin.
