Baker Struggling

We haven't heard much from former WPT finalist David Baker today, but that may be because he's been nurturing a short stack through. With just 45 minutes left in the day, he currently has 2,500 and will be in search of a much-needed double through.

Kling Crippled, Doubled, Busted

Jeff Madsen opened under the gun and Lauren Kling reraised. Back and forth they went until Kling capped. A flop naturally followed.

Flop: {3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

Madsen checked and Kling bet. Madsen called and they saw a turn.

Turn: {8-Diamonds}

Madsen checked again and Kling bet again. Madsen called once more, albeit more slowly this time.

River: {j-Clubs}, putting four clubs on the board.

Madsen checked in the dark this time and Kling continued her betting rampage. With a sigh, Madsen called, and he was good. Neither player was holding a club, and Madsen's {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} held up. Kling threw away her {a-Diamonds}{kh{, and was down to just 400.

Kling doubled through Madsen a few hands later, her {k-Hearts}{2-Hearts} coming good against Madsen's {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} on a {j-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{6-Spades} board, but she couldn't make it last. Next time we strolled by her table, she was gone.

Tales of Doom

An interesting hand at the Table of Doom has bumped John Juanda's stack up to 23,000.

Juanda raised in late position and the big blind called; Mr. Big Blind then proceeded to check-call the bet from Juanda on the {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop. He check-called again on the {9-Hearts} turn and once more on the {q-Spades} river - before mucking when Juanda turned over {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}.

Straight on the Turn

Barry Greenstein found himself involved in a three-way pot on a {Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{10-Diamonds} board. The short stack only had 100 remaining at the time and duly threw it in; unsurprisingly, both opponents called.

"Deuce," requested the all-in player selfishly as the river came a {7-Spades}. The other player then suddenly tabled his {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} before Greenstein had a chance to bet, but Greenstein was beat, and consequently checked with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}. The short stack had {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for the straight.

As a result, the short stack stayed alive, and Greesntein dropped a notch or two to 8,500.

Klinging On

There had been a raise in position and a call from the small blind by the time Lauren Kling three-bet from the big blind. Both her opponents called, and they saw a flop.

Flop: {5-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

The gent in the small blind checked, and Kling bet. The original raiser called behind, the small blind gave it up, and they were heads up to the turn.

Turn: {a-Hearts}

Again, Kling bet and her opponent called. Just one thing for it now...

River: {4-Hearts}

Kling bet out again, and this time time it was all in for her last 400. Her opponent finally gave up his hand, and Kling almost doubled to 6,000.
