Straight on the Turn

Barry Greenstein found himself involved in a three-way pot on a {Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{10-Diamonds} board. The short stack only had 100 remaining at the time and duly threw it in; unsurprisingly, both opponents called.

"Deuce," requested the all-in player selfishly as the river came a {7-Spades}. The other player then suddenly tabled his {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} before Greenstein had a chance to bet, but Greenstein was beat, and consequently checked with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}. The short stack had {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for the straight.

As a result, the short stack stayed alive, and Greesntein dropped a notch or two to 8,500.
