The RunGood Poker Series returns to the shadow of the nation’s capital when Day 1a of the Golden Expedition Maryland $1,300 Main Event begins at 11:15 a.m. local time.
The MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland, located on the outskirts of Washington, D.C., will play host to a group of hopefuls over the coming days, each chasing the RGPS championship ring and a piece of the $250,000 guaranteed prize pool. Today is the first of three starting flights.
Players will begin with a 50,000 starting stack. Levels on Day 1 will be 40 minutes, and late registration remains open for the first nine levels. The day will conclude once 12.5 percent of the field remains.

Day 1b is tomorrow at 11:15 a.m., while Day 1c follows on Saturday, September 26, at 11:15 a.m. All surviving players then return for Day 2 on September 27 at 12:15 p.m. to play down to a champion. Levels will be extended to 50 minutes on Day 2, then 60 minutes once the final table is reached.
The last time the RGPS came here to Maryland, Arash Asadabadi beat out 307 players to win $73,037. Others to make deep runs included Julie Cornelius, Clint Houck, RGPS tournament director Michael “Murph” Murphy, Nicholas Rigby, Carlos Chadha, and Justin Arnwine.
