Off to the Races

Daniel Carter
Daniel Carter

Daniel Carter raised preflop to 18,000 and had Russell Pittman move all in for approximately 160,000. Carter called immediately and turned over {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and was racing against Pittman's {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}.

The flop came down {3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, keeping Carter in the lead. Pittman stood from his seat and eagerly awaited a king or ace on the turn. When the {8-Clubs} hit, he was down to one last card for his tournament life.

The {9-Hearts} on the river ended Pittman's day and left Carter with a stack of 560,000.

Kings For Burt

Burt Boutin in action
Burt Boutin in action

Facing a raise to 18,000 from the Gevork Kasabyan on the button, Burt Boutin pushed all in for 94,000 total with Kasabyan making the call.

Kasabyan: {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Boutin: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}

The board ran out {5-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} to ensure Boutin the double to 190,000 as Kasabyan slipped to just 5,000 in chips.

Harroch Outdrawn To Rail

[Removed:14] open-jammed for his last 37,000 from middle position and Matthew Hankins made the call from the big blind.

Harroch: {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Hankins: {A-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

The flop of {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{6-Spades} gave Hankins the lead, and when the {3-Hearts} and {3-Spades} landed on the turn and river, Harroch hit the rail as Hankins climbed to 150,000 in chips.

Tutino Straighten Out

Ylon Schwartz opened with a raise only to have James Tutino move all in.

Schwartz made a committed call and we were off to a showdown.

Schwartz: {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Tutino: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

The {J-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Spades} flop gave Schwartz some chance, and when the {9-Diamonds} landed on the turn, it gave the 2008 November Niner nine outs to eliminate his opponent.

Unfortunately for Tutino, one of those would fall with the {5-Clubs} spiking on the river to send him packing as Schwartz climbs to 205,000 in chips.

Kim Trip'd Up

Bryan Kim found himself all in for his last 60,000 or so against Christopher Brammer.

Kim: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Brammer: {K-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

The flop of {4-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} kept Kim in the lead, but the {4-Clubs} on the turn saw him now drawing to just two outs.

The {9-Diamonds} on the river wasn't a queen, and Kim hit the rail as Brammer soars to over 615,000 in chips.

Blanchard Busto, Domagalski Over 500k

Daniel Suied opened with a raise from early position to 18,000 only to have Gerald Domagalski three-bet to 42,000 next to act.

With the action on Duane Blanchard in the big blind, he moved all in to prompt a fold from Suied but an insta-call from Domagalski for his 238,000 in chips.

Blanchard: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Domagalski: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

The board ran out a rather undramatic {8-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Spades}{A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} to see Domagalski's rivered set ensure a double up to over 500,000 as Blanchard was left crippled with just 15,000.

The following hand Blanchard would commit holding {A-}{K-} and find a caller holding {K-}{10-}.

Unfortunately for Blanchard his luck would continue to slide as a ten found it's way on the flop.
