Nutini Hits Set, Wins Pot

When we arrived on the scene there was a board of {8-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} spread out across the table. The player in the big blind led out with a bet of 400, and Stacey Nutini raised to 800. Both the player in the hijack and the big blind called.

The {3-Spades} came on the river. This time the big blind checked and Nutini led out with a bet of 1,150 leaving just 350 behind. The hijack was the only caller as the big blind folded.

Nutini showed {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} for a full house and it was good enough to take down the pot.

Selbst Spotted

There is little doubt who the most dangerous player in the field is. Bracelet winner Vanessa Selbst is a force to be reckoned with in any tournament she plays. In 2008, she bested a field of 758 to win the $1,500 PLO event.

In April, she won the NAPT Mohegan Sun for $750,000. Take it from us, she dominated that tournament en route to her victory.

A Little Pick-Me-Up For Peppe

A player in early position had raised to 125 and Nicolle Peppe bumped it up to 350 late position and and got a call from the player in the hijack. The original raiser got out of the way and we were headed to a heads up flop.

The flop came {6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Peppe threw 600 into the pot, getting a call from her opponent.

Both players checked the {j-Clubs} on the turn, and Peppe made one more bet of 600 when the {9-Spades} came on the river.

After getting a call, Peppe showed {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}. Her opponent mucked and Peppe is now up to about 4,700 chips.

Now That's Camaraderie

There is much more camaraderie present in this event than we are used to seeing. Over at Table 61, some of the players had to go to the bathroom. In the spirit of fair play, the entire table decided to take a bathroom break together.

A few moments later our first male participant was eliminated. The entire floor stood up in applause as he walked to the rail.

Shannon Elizabeth Running Over Table

Shannon Elizabeth has been cleaning house over at her table. She had already eliminated two players at her table when we started to take in the action in this hand.

Sitting in the cutoff, Elizabeth raised to 125. Action then folded to the big blind who three-bet to 350. Elizabeth made another raise, this time to 1,000, and got called by the the big blind.

The flop came {7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and the big blind immediately announced she was all in. Elizabeth snap-called.

Elizabeth: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Big Blind: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out with the {7-Spades} coming on the turn and the {k-Clubs} following on the river.

With over 17,000 chips in front of her, Elizabeth looks to be our chip leader.

Thomas Makes Huge Fold

We got to the scene on a board reading {5-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}. The player in the big blind had bet 100 and PokerStars Team Online player Amanda "Roxy24" Thomas raised to 350 with the big blind calling.

The river was the {5-Hearts}. Thomas bet 575, leaving just 1,000 behind. The big blind raised, putting herself all in and Thomas folded. Thomas claimed she had {a-}{j-} upon seeing the {5-Spades}{7-Diamonds} of her opponent.

Thomas may have made the right move, but she's currently hurting with only 1,000 in chips left.

Break Time

The first break of the day has been extended to 30 minutes. We assume it's in preparation for the huge bathroom lines that are sure to form.
