Lewis Out, 121 and Holding

It appears that just prior to the start of hand-for-hand play we lost Michele Lewis, a final tablist in the 2006 WSOP $1,500 limit hold'em event where she finished fourth.

The big board continues to show that there are 121 players left.

Getting Close

We've played about a half-dozen hands thus far since hand-for-hand play began, and so far have lost only one player. There are 120 players left.

The ladies event is generally known for featuring relatively more table talk than one hears during the other events. There's still a lot of conversation happening here -- particularly among players at those tables waiting to play the next hand -- but it is fair to say the overall mood in the room has understandably grown a tad more pensive.

Still a lot of noise, however, as there is a sizable rail -- at least as many watching as are playing, and perhaps more.

Totani Doubles Through Lo

Faithful Lo opened with a standard raise from middle position, and it folded to Jerilyn Totani in the small blind who reraised all in for 8,400 more. The BB got out, and Lo made the call.

Totani {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Lo {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The board came {7-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}, and Totani doubles to 25,000. Lo's stack is still pretty high, though, at 68,000.

Aces Hold Up for Andersen

A player in early position raised to 7,000, and Janet Andersen -- down to her last 4,700 -- made the call.

"Please don't crack them!" Andersen asked, tabling her {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}. Her opponent showed {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}. The board complied with Andersen's request, coming {J-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, and Andersen survives.

One to the Money

We've had a couple of eliminations, bringing us down to 118 players left -- just one from the money.

In the one, Bonnie Carl was all in for her last 3,500 with {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} against Leeann Ball's {J-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. The board came {5-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}... {Q-Clubs}, giving Ball a flush and knocking out Carl.

In the other, Beth Gains was all in for 11,700 with {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} against an opponent's {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}. Again a cruel river, as the board came {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}.

Dealers, shuffle up and deal your next hand...

The Bubble Bursts

"All right, congratulations ladies... you're all in the money!"

So went the announcement, followed by a round of applause by players and those on the rail.

It looks as though Lindsey McAdams was the unfortunate player to be the last one eliminated before the cash. The remaining 117 will all be realizing a profit in this one, with the next nine to go earning $1,802.

Luong Gone

Lisa Teebagy raised to 1,500, and Linh Luong reraised all in for 7,500 total. It folded back around and Teebagy called.

Teebagy showed {J-Spades}{J-Hearts} and Luong {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. The next five came {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, and Luong is out. Meanwhile, Teebagy trips up the leaderboard with 79,000.
