Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier raised from the button, and the big blind called to see the dealer put
on the flop. The big blind check-called a bet on that flop, and another one on the
turn to bring us to the raggy
river. ElkY bet again, and his opponent snap-called one final time.
Of course, ElkY turned over
for the trip fives, good enough to earn him the pot and push his stack up to 31,500.
Andre Akkari (button) made it two bets preflop, and Daniel Negreanu made it three from the small blind. Akkari called, and the two saw a

flop.
Negreanu bet, and Akkari called. The turn was the
, and once again Negreanu bet, getting a call from Akkari. The river was the
and Negreanu checked, Akkari bet, and Negreanu made the call. Akkari flipped over the
for the rivered flush, and Negreanu mucked.
A few hands later Negreanu was all in on the turn with
on a

board, and was up against the
of his opponent. The river was no help to Negreanu, and he has been eliminated from the limit hold'em festivities.
As retold to us by Al Barbieri, Jean-Robert Bellande has busted from this evenings event. Bellande was said to have took the lead in the hand from the get-go, and his opponent check-called him down on every street of a

board.
When it became time to show and tell the hand, Bellande showed pocket jacks, and his opponent the
for rivered trips.
Bellande was over heard saying "Every time someone plays like an idiot, I get f***ing f***ed."
The small blind limped into the pot first in, and Tommy Hang knocked the table for a free flop from the big.
The flop came out
, and the small blind check-called a bet from Hang.
On the
turn, the small blind led out into the pot with a bet, Hang raised, and his opponent called the extra bet.
The river
saw another leading bet from the small blind, and Hang flat-called this time. His opponent turned up
for the running straight, drawing a puzzled look from Hang. He mucked, dropping his stack back to about 32,000.
Shannon Shorr got himself all in on the turn of a board showing
. JC Tran held
, and he was more than happy to get the chips in after turning top pair, much to the chagrin of Shorr.
No help on the river meant the end of Shorr's day, and JC Tran now appears to be the big stack with 55,000 chips in front of him.
The pot was three-bet before the flop, and we walked up just as the dealer was putting out a flop of
. The big blind fired out a bet, and Maya Geller called in position.
That action repeated on the
turn and on the
river with Geller calling big bets on both streets. The button showed up pocket queens, and Geller's
was the winning hand, her pair of aces earning her a chip boost up to 23,000.
We caught up to the action with three bets in the pot preflop, and the board reading

. The big blind checked, and then raised the bet from Alexandre Gomes. Gomes made the call, and the players saw the
hit the turn.
The big blind checked again, and Gomes bet, however this time the player in the big blind just called.
The river was the
and both players checked. Gomes showed the
, which was bad news for the pocket fours of his opponent. Gomes is up to 30,000.
David Plastik raised first-in from the small blind, and a female player made the quick call from the big.
Heads up, the flop came out
, and Plastik's follow-up bet was called again. His opponent called bets again on the
turn and the
river, although the last call was awfully reluctant, and it was accompanied by a noise like, "Grrrrrrrugh". She mucked when Plastik tabled
, and that pot moves him up to about 35,000.
Vitaly Lunkin made it two bets from the button, and got called by the player in the big blind. The flop was

, and the player in the big blind check-raised Lunkin's flop bet.
The turn was the
and the player in the big blind bet, eliciting a call from Lunkin.
The river was the
, and the big blind bet again, Lunkin raised, and the big blind made the call. Lunkin revealed pocket aces, that were indeed cracked by the
of his opponent.
Lunkin is now on about 15,000.
