Bobby's Room Beware: Dwan's Marching to an Early Chip Lead

A player in middle position made it two bets preflop, only get raised by Tom "durrrr" Dwan who was on the button. The mid-position player four-bet, and Dwan called.

The flop came down {j-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Clubs}, and the mid position raiser led out for a bet, Dwan raised, and his opponent made the call. The turn was the {j-Clubs} and Dwan's opponent check-called a bet, leading to the {q-Spades} river, to which Dwan's opponent check-called another bet from Dwan.

Dwan flipped over the stone-cold nuts with pocket jacks, and his opponent mucked. Dwan is up to 19,000.

Welcome the Miz

Michael Mizrachi has just joined Table 296, to make it once again the toughest table in the world.

He joins Mike Leah, Jimmy Fricke, Barry Shulman, and Noah Boeken at that table full of fun.

Pilgrim Climbing

A player UTG raised, and Pilgrim re-popped making it three bets, only to see the UTG player making it four bets. Pilgrim called, and the players saw a {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop.

UTG continued his aggressive ways leading out with a bet. Pilgrim made the call, and the two saw the {8-Clubs} on the turn, once again prompting a bet from the UTG player, and a call from Pilgrim.

The {9-Spades} on the river did not slow down Mr. UTG, and for a third straight round he led out with a bet, Pilgrim made the call and showed down the {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, which was good against his opponents pocket sevens.

Pilgrim now has 11,350.

He's a Strange One

By our count, the floor has been called to Table 298 five times so far for Mr. Strange Bird we mentioned earlier. A few of the players at the adjacent tables have been getting irritated, and this latest offense garnered him his first penalty of the day.

There was about 90 seconds left on the level clock before the break when Mr. Strange Bird was dealt his final hand. "You can go ahead and leave," he told his table mates. "This will be the last hand for us." With that, he stood up from his chair with his hand over his cards, and he refused to act until the level wound down. When the clock hit zero, his cards hit the muck, and he wandered off for break.

When he left, the rest of his table called the floor over for a chat. When Mr. Strange Bird returned, there was a nice yellow post-it note stuck to the rail in front of his seat that said, "1 round penalty".

Mr. Strange Bird has just rejoined his table, and now he's got an attractive massage therapist to keep him company for a while. The poor girl.

Break it Down

That's two levels in the books, and the players have been sent off for their first twenty-minute break of the day.

We'll be back when they are; don't wander off on us.

Chino Stays Alive!

Chino Rheem was all in for 150 before the flop, and he two opponents checked down a board of {4-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds}.

Chino showed up {A-Diamonds} {2-Clubs}, and neither of his opponents could beat that. That gives him a much-needed triple up to a still-very-short 450.

Gordon Gets Re-Sucked on the River

It was a blind on blind battle, with Phil Gordon raising it up in the small blind before getting re-popped by the player in the big blind. Gordon made the call, and the two saw a {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop.

Gordon led out with a bet, and got a call from his opponent leading to the {2-Diamonds} hitting on the turn. Once again, Gordon bet, and got called by his opponent. The two saw the {10-Clubs} hit the turn, and both players checked.

Gordon flipped over {k-}{9-}, which was rivered by his opponents {k-}{10-}. Gordon exclamed, "Sick, so f***ing gross." He's down to 5,550.

Veldhuis Finds a Ten

Lex Veldhuis raised under the gun, and he found one call from Tom Schneider in middle position.

Heads up, the flop came down {K-Hearts} {5-Spades} {4-Spades}, and Veldhuis check-called a bet. Both players checked through the {10-Hearts} turn and {J-Clubs} river to go straight to showdown for the small pot.

Veldhuis tabled {A-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}, and it was the winner. Schneider mucked, moving down to 6,950, while that little chip-up puts Veldhuis at 5,700, both men still down a bit from their starting stacks.
