Casey McCarrel was all in on the river of a board showing . When he was called down by Chuck Danielsson, McCarrel turned up for the rivered pair of queens. That was good enough to double him up, though both he and Danielsson could still use some help for their six-big-bet stacks:
McLean Karr raised from the cutoff seat, and Anh Le three-bet from the small blind.
The two players took a flop of , and Le fired out with a bet. Karr raised, Le three-bet again, and Karr made the smooth call. The turn was the and the river the with Le check-calling bets from Karr on both streets.
Karr tabled for two pair, but his hand was no good. Le's made a straight, earning the pot and a chip boost to 105,000. That dropped Karr down to just 400 lonely chips.
He quadrupled up on the following hand, and he was all in for 1,600 with on the ensuing deal. Michael Binger held against him, and the board of finally took the last of Karr's stack.
J.C. Tran was all in for his last 2,000 chips before the flop, and he was called by JJ Liu before Justin Parmann raised in the big blind. Liu called the extra bet, and they headed off to the flop of . Liu check-called a bet there, and she check-folded on the turn. The filled out the board.
Tran showed for a big miss, and Parmann's nothing beat Tran's nothing. He turned up , picking up the pot and sending J.C. out through the double doors.
We had three unrelated Trans begin this event (J.C., Theo, and Jimmy), and none of the three have managed to make the money.
