Klein KOs Hindin

Daniel Hindin has been eliminated. All in following a {5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop, Hindin held {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} versus L.J. Klein's {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

The turn was the {Q-Hearts}, and Hindin's aces were still best. But the river was the {6-Hearts}, giving Klein the straight and eliminating Hindin.

Klein, our chip leader when we began Day 2, now has 210,000 which puts him back in the top five with 43 players left.

Aces Hold for Naujoks

Sandra Naujoks
Sandra Naujoks

Following a flop of {Q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, Brian Powell bet the pot, Team PokerStars Pro Sandra Naujoks reraised all in for her last 20,000, and Powell called.

Powell {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Naujoks {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

Naujoks would have to fade Powell's double-gutter to survive. The turn was the {10-Diamonds}, and Naujoks was still good. And the river was the {5-Clubs}, ensuring the German pro's survival.

Powell now has 80,000, while Naujoks -- the last woman standing for some time now in this event, incidentally -- is back to 48,000.

Christensen Eliminated

Tyson Christensen was in the big blind for 3,000 with only 1,500 back; needless to say, he was going to be all in on the hand.

The rest of the table knew this as well and action folded to David Iammarino who raised to 7,000 from the cutoff. Lee Habern then raised pot and, as expected, Christensen committed his remaining chips. All other players folded, even Iammarino, and the two turned over their cards:

Christensen: {K-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Habern: {K-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

The board ran out {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and Christensen was eliminated from the tournament.

Yockey Jockeying for Chip Lead

Bryce Yockey continues to keep pressuring his table, adding to his already big stack and pushing out into the chip lead.

Just now he took the lead with position on a hand versus Joe Serock before the flop. The flop came {3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades}, Serock checked, Yockey bet pot, and Serock called. The turn was the {8-Clubs}. Again Serock checked, and again Yocket unhesitatingly bet the pot. Serock took about a minute to act, then let it go.

Yockey is up around 248,000 at the moment. Serock has 108,000.

Proulx Improves

Michel Proulx opened for 5,500 from early position, and it folded to Joerg Engels in the cutoff who called. The button and blinds stepped aside, the flop came {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, and Proulx continued with a bet of 5,000. Engels again called.

The turn was the {3-Clubs}. This time Proulx checked, Engels bet 8,800, and Proulx called.

The river brought the {6-Hearts}. Proulx checked again, and Engels bet 24,000. Proulx let out a pained expression. "I call," he said, adding "if you got queens or queens full, you got me."

Engels had neither, turning over {J-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}. Proulx showed {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and was best, and moves up to 236,000. Engels now has 61,000.

Bye-Bye Binger

There was 15,000 in the pot when the flop came down {K-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. Bryce Yockey bet 12,400 and Michael Binger made the call.

When the {5-Spades} hit the turn, Yockey fired five orange chips worth 25,000. Binger, who only had 20,000 remaining, made the call for his tournament life.

Binger: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Yockey: {9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

Binger had a massive draw to the straight while Yockey had straight and flush draws. Things came to an end for Binger when the {J-Clubs} gave Yockey the flush on the river. Binger was sent to the rail while Yockey is up to 235,000.

Grove Mowed Down

Lee Grove has been eliminated. He was all in against two other players -- Chau Giang and Sean Getzwiller -- following a {8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop. Giang and Getzwiller kept on betting, and eventually Getzwiller was all in as well.

Getzwiller {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Giang {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Grove {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}

The turn was the {J-Diamonds} and river the {9-Spades}. That river meant both Giang and Getzwiller ended up with nine-high straights, thus chopping the pot and sending Grove to the rail. Getzwiller has about 75,000 now, and Giang is still with the leaders with about 225,000.

The Gill vs. the Pope

With 56,000 in the pot and a flop reading {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{K-Hearts}, Carter Gill bet pot and Trevor Pope made the call for his tournament life.

Pope: {10-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{K-Spades}{A-Diamonds}
Gill: {9-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

The turn and river ran out {3-Spades} and {J-Spades}, giving Pope a double up to 142,000 and dropping Gill to 28,000.

On the very next hand, Gill and Pope got it all in again, this time preflop.

Gill: {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
Pope: {Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

The board ran out {4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades} and this time it was Gill who doubled to 59,000. Meanwhile, Pope dropped to 113,000.
