Come Play and Stay With Us

PokerNews has made the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino our home for the 2010 World Series of Poker, and we'd sure like to see you hanging around there with us too! Tonight is a great chance to come meet a few of us degenerates and have a little fun as we'll host our weekly half-kill limit game in the poker room at 8:00 p.m. If you're in town and looking for a good way to spend an evening around a poker table, come log a few hours with us. The player who logs the most hours in our games over the course of this summer will win themselves a handsome new iPad as a little consolation prize.

If you're just looking for a place to fall asleep, we can help with that too. Use our bonus code CEPKNEW when you book your room at the Hard Rock for an incredible $69/night rate Sunday-Thursday and $179/night on the weekends. They've made us feel awfully welcome there this summer, and we trust they'll do the same for you!

Flush Over Flush Over Flush

A middle position player opened for a raise, Steve Chanthabouasy called from the cutoff and both Michael Casella and Andre Akkari called from the blinds.

The flop was {K-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. Casella and Akkari checked to the initial raiser and he bet out. Casella raised and all three of his opponents called. The turn was the {7-Clubs} and this time Casella led out from the small blind. Akkari called, the middle position player folded and Chanthabouasy called all-in. The river was the {10-Diamonds}. Casella bet and Akkari called.

Casella turned over {J-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for the third-nut flush, Akkari showed {Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for the second-nut flush and Chanthabouasy tabled {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for the nut flush! Chanthabouasy is up to 41,300, Akkari is down to 53,500 and Casella is on 28,300.

Glantz Gone

Matt Glantz
Matt Glantz

Matt Glantz was just spotted making his way out the door, and a quick check by his table tells us that he has run out of chips, and has thus been eliminated from our event.

Olson on Fumes

With the board reading {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{2-Hearts}{J-Clubs} on the turn, Olson check-called a bet from Barry Greenstein. The river was the {A-Hearts} and Olson checked again, then called one more bet.

Greenstein showed {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} for a full house and Olson mucked. He's down to only 3,000 in chips while Greenstein climbed to 56,000.

Corkins Has Kicker Problems

Brent Courson raised from early position, and Hoyt Corkins three-bet in position.

The flop came out {10-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {10-Hearts}, and Courson check-called a bet. He did the same on the {8-Clubs} turn, and the {6-Hearts} filled out the board on fifth street. Courson checked again, and Corkins slowly tapped the table behind.

Courson flipped up {A-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} for the nut kickers, and Corkins held his cards up, staring at them for several long seconds. Finally, he dumped his inferior {A-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} onto the felt, sending the pot over to his opponent's corner.

Corkins - 92,000
Courson - 106,000
