Appleman Busto

Stud 8/b

Turner: (X) (X) / {4-Hearts} {k-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {8-Spades} / (X)
Appleman: (X) (X) / {7-Hearts} {k-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {2-Hearts} / (X)

Mickey Appleman made it all the way to the river with Jon Turner and was stuck in a really, really bad spot. He completed third street as last to act against Turner's bring-in, then called Tuner's raise. Appleman bet fourth street and was called; Turner bet fifth street and was called. Both players checked sixth street.

At the river, Appleman had only 500 chips left in his stack. Turner bet and Appleman felt compelled to call and hope. Turner had a weak hand with {q-Hearts} {q-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} in the hole -- a pair of queens for high and no low -- but it was strong enough to send Appleman to the rail.

Turner has about 28,000.
