A Flush for the Leader

Stud

Awad: (X) (X) / {q-Spades} {k-Clubs} {q-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} / (X)
Revesz: (X) (X) / {9-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {6-Diamonds} / (X)

It almost seems unfair when the player with the most chips makes very strong hands to gain even more chips. Andrew Revesz was facing a bet on fifth street from Hani Awad. He called and caught a third diamond on sixth street. Awad must have sensed some danger; he checked and then called a bet. The action was the same on the river. At showown, Revesz produced two diamonds from the hole to go with the three on board, {a-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {2-}. He had a diamond flush and dragged the pot to climb to 420,000. Awad is down to 165,000.
