Match 2: Two Pair for Mahmood

Ernst Schmejkal limped from the button and Ayaz Mahmood checked his option.

Mahmood checked the {3-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{q-Spades} flop and Schmejkal bet 80,000. Mahmood made the call and the {6-Hearts} fell on the turn. Both players checked to the river, which was the {q-Clubs}. They both checked again and Mahmood turned over {j-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for two pair to take the pot.

Match 2: Some Aggression From Ayaz

(Around 11pm last night) "I hope this match ends soon . . . I got dinner plans tomorrow night!"
(Around 11pm last night) "I hope this match ends soon . . . I got dinner plans tomorrow night!"

Ayaz Mahmood has been on a tear over the past few pots.

After raising to 200,000 to pick up Ernst Schmejkal's big blind, Mahmood found a walk before opening to 175,000 on he next hand.

Schmejkal made the call and both players checked the {10-Spades}{2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} board down to see Schmejkal fire out 200,000.

Mahmood leant back in his chair and put his hands on his head before quickly reaching for some chips and cutting out a min-raise to 400,000.

Schmejkal instantly folded and Mahmood soared ahead as Schmejkal slipped to 1,850,000 in chips.

Plenty to Watch

Across the Amazon Room, the $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. is down to nine players. Phil Ivey is leading the way and going for bracelet #8.

The two players in this event still have their railbirds, but from our vantage point, the rail at the feature table in the orange section, is quite a few people deep, with everyone trying to get a glimpse of the action.

The river landed the {Q-Diamonds} and Schmejkal led out for 350,000 with Mahmood quickly calling.

Schmejkal tabled his {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for two-pair, and Mahmood tabled his {K-Spades}{8-Hearts} to see the pot chopped up.
