Winner: Michael Cooper Makes Big Call, Moves On to Final Round

In the last hand before the break, Michael Cooper had raised from the small blind/button against his heads-up opponent, Emil Gunnarsson, and Gunnsarsson had shoved all in over the top. Cooper went deep into the tank.

"This reminds me of one from a couple of years ago," he said. Finally amid much anguish he made the call. "Aces?" he said worriedly, but Gunnarsson flipped over {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Cooper energetically turned over {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. The board ran out {K-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, and Cooper's hand held up.

It took the dealer several minutes to count out the stacks, and as it happened Gunnarsson still had a few hundred left. Even though the break had begun, the pair went ahead and played one more hand. Gunnarsson had {J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}, Cooper {4-Spades}{5-Spades}, and when the board brought a five Cooper was through to tomorrow's final.

El-Sayed Increases Lead

Dustin Dirksen raised to 6,500 with the button and Sam El-Sayed defended his big blind.

The flop fell {q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{10-Spades} and El-Sayed check-called 12,000 from Dirksen.

The turn was the {6-Hearts} and El-Sayed check-called another bet from Dirksen - this one was worth 25,000.

Both players checked the {4-Diamonds} on the turn and El-Sayed said, "Ten."

Dirksen mucked and El-Sayed opened {10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}.

"Oh," El-Sayed grunted. "I forgot I hit four too."

El-Sayed now has a commanding lead holding over 300,000 of the 450,000 chips in play.

JC Finds a Queen

JC Tran had Kyle Brossia all in preflop for his last 60,000 chips at Table 361 and the hands looked like this:

Showdown
Tran: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Brossia: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Tran stole the lead when the flop fell {j-Clubs}{8-Spades}{q-Hearts}, and after the turn and rive came {5-Hearts}, {j-Spades} respectively Brossia hit the rail. Thanks to the fortuitous flop, Tran is now up to 150,000 chips.

You're the King

Jeff Kimber committed his last 50,000 chips preflop and Jeffrey King had him at risk. Kimber was slightly ahead with {a-Spades}{9-Spades} to King's {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}, but the {7-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop gave King a myriad of outs.

The {j-Hearts} on the turn was one of King's outs, and after the {7-Hearts} bricked on the river he recorded the knockout. Kimber headed to the cage to pick up his winnings, and King now sits with 338,000 chips.
