Channing Out

We didn't catch the hand but the dealer was kind enough to fill us in. Neil Channing was all in with {10-}{10-} on a flop of {6-}{6-}{9-} against an opponent who held {A-}{K-}.

Channing was in good shape to double up when the turn came {9-}, but that suddenly changed when an ace hit the river. Channing was eliminated from the tournament on the hand.

A player in middle position limped in, and went to see the flop with the blinds. The flop was {7-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{q-Spades} and after the small blind checked, Antonio Esfandiari fired a 400-chip bet from the big.

The player in middle position moved all in, for an additional 400 chips. The small blind folded and Esfandiari called.

Esfandiari: {10-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

The turn brought a {6-Clubs} to the table and the river card was a {7-Spades}. Esfandiari knocked out his opponent and is now up to 25,000 chips.

Bernard Lee
Bernard Lee

The player in the hijack raised to 350 and the small blind made the call. Bernard Lee then shoved all in for 2,800 with {8-}{8-}.

The hijack thought about it and made the call with {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}. The small blind got out of the way and Lee was racing for his tournament life.

The board ran out {A-}{7-}{7-}{2-}{9-} and Lee more than doubled to 6,500.

Bad Aces for Channing

Neil Channing
Neil Channing

When we arrived at the table Neil Channing was all in against one opponent. Channing tabled aces and his opponent tabled pocket nines.

The {q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades}{10-Clubs} board gave a set of nines to Channing's opponent, and the Britt lost half of his stack. Channing is now down to 3,000 chips.
