The tournament officials have announced that Day 1A started with 1,759 players. The tournament clock says 2,235, but that number includes any player that preregistered for Day 1B.
When we arrived at the table the board read

A player in late position fired a 225-chip bet and popped it to 600. The initial raiser moved all in and the Team PokerStars Pro from Brazil called for less, about 2,500 chips.
