Amir Vahedi

Earlier this year, the much loved poker player Amir Vahedi unfortunately passed away.

The Iranian professional poker player amassed over $3,000,000 in lifetime earnings and has nine WSOP cashes to his name. In 2003, Vahedi won this same event for his first bracelet before going on to final table the Main Event.

The World Series of Poker has decide to mark this day as a celebration of Vahedi's life, and consequently has began play with a moments silence.
