Tad Jurgens Eliminated in 9th Place ($41,842), Noel Scruggs Eliminated in 8th Place ($53,694)

Tad Jurgens - 9th place
Tad Jurgens - 9th place

Tad Jurgens started the action by open-shoving all in for 150,000 from middle position. Next door, Noel Scruggs reraised all in for 415,000. When the table folded around to the blinds, Guillaume Darcourt tanked for several minutes in the small blind before announcing a call to put both players at risk. With a huge put up for grabs, the cards were on their backs:

Jurgens: {Q-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}
Scruggs: {A-Spades} {Q-Hearts}
Darcourt: {7-Hearts} {7-Diamonds}

Jurgens was set to triple up, but disaster would befall him on the flop. The {7-Spades} peeked right in the window, and Darcourt let out a beastly roar. In the end, the board of {7-Spades} {3-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {4-Spades} gave him the pot with his set of sevens, drawing a disgusted look from Jurgens as he stood from his chair. Scruggs sat silently as his fate was sealed, and we're down two players just like that.

Jurgens had fewer chips, so he's out in ninth place, and Scruggs gets the pay bump for his eighth-place effort. Darcourt has now moved into the chip lead with about 2.1 million, though we'll have to get a better count when he finishes stacking up that pot.
