Kerr Doubles Stack

Paul Kerr
Paul Kerr

David Peters opened for 110,000 from the button, and Paul Kerr checked his cards. He sat for about 15 seconds, then announced he was all in for his last 1.2 million. Marcel Vonk quickly folded from the big blind, and Peters wasted little time making the call.

Kerr showed {2-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Peters {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. The board ran out {7-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}, and Kerr scored a double-up here as we near the end of Level 26.

Kerr has about 2.5 million now, while Peters looks to have just a bit more with 2.6 million.

Backdoor Flush Helps Vonk Double Through Peters

Marcel Vonk
Marcel Vonk

Paul Kerr opened for 110,000 from the cutoff, Marcel Vonk called from the button, and David Peters came along as well from the big blind.

The flop came {5-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{A-Clubs}. It checked to Vonk who bet 200,000, then Peters check-raised to 570,000 total. Kerr got out, and Vonk called.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds}. Peters led with a bet of 660,000 this time, and Vonk thought for a while before calling. Vonk left himself about 1.5 million after making that call.

The river was the {9-Diamonds}. Peters sat quietly for a minute, then told the dealer he was all in. Vonk rechecked his cards just to make sure, then called, tabling {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for the backdoor nut flush. Peters, a bit exasperated, turned his hand over as well -- {A-Spades}{5-Spades}. He'd flopped two pair, and had been outdrawn.

Big chip swing there. Vonk is the leader now with 5.65 million, and Peters falls to second with 3.15 million.

One More For Jessen

Nathan Jessen

From under the gun, David Peters opened the pot with a 110,000-chip raise. In the big blind, Nathan Jessen called.

The flop came out {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Jessen check-called a 125,000-chip bet from Peters.

When the {3-Hearts} fell on the turn, both players checked. The river card was a {5-Diamonds} and Jessen fired a 425,000-chip bet. Peters eventually folded.

Jessen is now up to 1,480,000 chips.

Peters Calls Vonk Bet, Extends Lead

We just got back to the table to find a confrontation brewing between our two chip leaders, David Peters and Marcel Vonk.

With about 750,000 already in the middle and the board showing {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{j-Clubs}{4-Spades}, Peters checked, and Vonk bet 225,000. Peters paused a beat, then made the call.

The river was the {9-Diamonds}, and both checked. Peters tabled {A-Spades}{J-Spades}, and Vonk mucked.

Peters moves to 6.75 million on that one, distancing himself a bit from second-place Vonk who has 2.7 million.
