Ekerfelted

Preflop action between Daniel Hart (button) and Johan Ekerfelt (big blind) had already built a pot of around 150,000 when the flop came {9-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

Ekerfelt immediately pushed all in with his remaining chips. Hart thought a bit, then exhaled and said "All right, I call." Hart had {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}, but was behind Ekerfelt's {K-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

The tables turned, however, with the {Q-Hearts} turn card, which put Hart way out in front. The river was the {6-Clubs}, and Ekerfelt is out.

Hart didn't have Ekerfelt covered by much, and so has made a nice jump up to 402,000.

We Prefer Pools

The action folded to Michael Clees in the cutoff seat, and he opened the pot with a 50,000-chip raise. On the button, Raymond Stuwe asked for a count.

Clees had 150,000 chips behind and Stuwe tanked...tanked...and after seven or eight minutes he finally folded.

The blinds released and this is how we are spending our fourth of July.

Waxman Rubbed Out

Raymond Stuwe opened with a raise to 24,000 from under the gun, and it folded around to Matthew Waxman on the button who shoved all in for 97,000. The blinds got out, and Stuwe quickly made the call.

Stuwe showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and was ahead of Waxman's {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. The community cards came {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, and Waxman was eliminated.

Stuwe adds some to his stack, moving to 328,000.

Brain Dead

We've seen a few more hit the rail here in the early going. The latest was Michael Brain, who after being cut short in that hand versus Alex Jacob, has now joined the line to the cashier.

Following a {J-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{A-Spades} flop, Takashi Ogura checked, Brain pushed all in with his remaining stack, and Ogura called. Ogura showed {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, while Brain had {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}.

The turn was the {J-Diamonds} and the river the {4-Spades}, and Brain is out. Ogura chips up to 374,000.

Double Up for Jacob

Alex Jacob
Alex Jacob

The action folded to Alex Jacob on the button and he moved all in for about 140,000 chips. In the big blind, Michael Brain called and tabled {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}. Bad news for Jacob and his {10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}.

The {10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} board, gave Jacob 290,000 chips. Brain slipped to nearly 100,000.

Moen Eliminates Jacintho

Shortly after that double-up by Jason Jacintho came a hand in which Espen Moen opened with a raise from the button, then Jacintho pushed all in from the small blind for 50,000 more. The big blind folded, and Moen called.

Jacintho had {8-}{8-} and Moen {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. The flop came {2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, giving Jacintho a set of eights. But the turn and river -- {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} -- gave Moen a runner-runner straight, and Jacintho is out.

Moen moves to 310,000.

Mitrovic Moves On

Srdjan Mitrovic open-raised all in from late position with his last 65,000, then Johnny Kitchens announced he was reraising all in behind him. The others folded, Mitrovic showed {Q-Spades}{8-Hearts}, and Kitchens tabled {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

The board came {7-Clubs}{3-Spades}{k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, and Mitrovic is an early casualty here on Day 3. Kitchens moves up to 305,000.
