Final Thirty Six Reached!

After nearly fourteen hours of play, Event No. 6, $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout has come to an end!

A near-capacity 358 players took to the felt today to form one of the strongest fields assembled for this buy-in amount at a WSOP event. Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Erick Lindgren, Chris Ferguson, Jeffrey Lisandro and Barry Greenstein were just the tip of the iceberg - as the list literally goes on and on - representing the calibre of players that were looking to carve their name in a slice of WSOP history. Throw in some of the world's best online players and sit-n-go masters and you easily have one of the toughest events for the Summer.

Unfortunately, only thirty-six players would survive the day with everyone that defeated their table not only making it to day two, but also the guaranteed payout of $16,607.

Dario Minieri, John Duthie and Chad Brown all topped their relative tables while James Akenhead and Neil Channing joined Tom Dwan, Christian Harder, Blair Hinkle, Faraz Jaka, Max Pescatori, David Rheem and Chris Ferguson in the final thirty-six also.

With the remaining players all in the money, they will however be eyeing the top prize of $441,692, the coveted bracelet and title of Event No. 6 Champion!
