Day 2 Set to Begin

Welcome back to Day 2 of the first shootout of the Series. Yesterday 358 players turned out to play ten-handed at 36 tables. Each table produced one winner, who locked up $16,607 and earn themselves a trip to round two. Today they'll sit down at six six-handed tables and play until there is a king of each felt. Those six players will come back tomorrow for the final table.

Yesterday, Josef Monro and Aaron Gustavson dispatched their tables in record time and had the rest of the night to prep for today. On the other end of the spectrum, John Duthie took seven hours to beat Terrence Chan heads up and move on to Day 2. Brent Wheeler was the last to win his table, but win he did, and he'll be back with the rest. Somewhere in between, Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Justin "BoostedJ" Smith, Chris Ferguson, Faraz Jaka, Chino Rheem, Tommy Vedes, James Akenhead, Dario Minieri, Chad Brown and plenty of other big names took down their tables.

But those wins are in the past now, and everyone starts with a blank slate and 150,000 in chips. Everyone is just filtering in to size up their new competition. Let the shootout begin!
