Michelizzi vs Karatzas

George Karatzas and Jared Michelizzi both checked to the turn on a {9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades} board. Karatzas checked the turn and Michelizzi bet 8,000. Karatzas raised to 28,000, only to have Michelizzi go all in. Karatzas only had 65,000 remaining and was covered.

Karatzas made the call and showed {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for both straight and flush draws. Michelizzi had flopped a set with {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and needed to dodge an arsenal of outs.

The {9-Spades} hit on the river eliminating Karatzas while Michelizzi jumped up to 345,ooo.

Break Time

We are now on another 20-minute break instead of the regularly scheduled dinner break. The 60-minute break has been pushed back to the end of the next level.

Jean-Robert Isn't the Sole Survivor

Jean Robert-Bellande
Jean Robert-Bellande

We heard a floorman yell, "Winner at Table 373," which was accompanied by a round of applause. When we got over there, it was discovered that Jean-Robert Bellande had lost all of his chips when he pushed with {A-}{K-} and ran into pocket kings.

Unfortunately for Jean-Robert, a former contestant on Survivor-China, he couldn't find help and will not be the sole survivor of Event #8.

Agop Gots What It Takes

Agop Rustemoglu opened to 10,000 and Mike Ngo shoved for 75,000. Jordan Rich moved in for a total of 93,750 and Agop made the call.

Ngo: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Agop:{Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Rich:{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

The flop put Ngo ahead when it came {A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. The {2-Diamonds} changed nothing but the {Q-Clubs} on the river sent gasps throughout the room. Agop, who had the best hand preflop, took down a massive pot and is now over 300,000.

Ngo and Rich were both eliminated on the hand.
