Hand #229: Duhamel Wins First Showdown

John Racener has the button.

Racener limps in again. Jonathan Duhamel checks the big blind again. They take another unraised flop, this one coming {3-Spades}{j-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Duhamel checks again, giving Racener space to bet 1.4 million. Duhamel (who has kicked off the flip-flop shoes he wore to the final table and is now sitting barefoot on the set) calls and checks the {4-Diamonds} turn. Racener also checks.

The river is the {10-Spades}. Duhamel bets 2.8 million, following the familiar pattern set by previous hands in which Racener had the button. This time Racener doesn't snap-muck. He takes 30 seconds before putting in a raise to 6.9 million. Duhamel snap-calls with {j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, two pair, jacks and fours. Racener just pitches his card into the muck.

With that pot, Duhamel has crested the 200-million-chip mark. He has 201,150,000. Racener is down to 18,450,000 and about to get some more bad news: blinds are up next hand.
