All-In and a Chop

Chris Ferguson opened for 2,300, Daniel Negreanu reraised to 4,300 and Ferguson called.

The flop came down {6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}. Negreanu checked, Ferguson bet 2,500 and Negreanu called. The turn came the {5-Spades} and this time Negreanu led out. Ferguson raised to 8,000 and Negreanu moved all-in for 16,725. Ferguson called.

Negreanu {Q-Spades}{3-Spades}
Ferguson {A-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

Both players turned straights but Negreanu was freerolling with a spade draw. The river, however, was the {10-Clubs} and they chopped the pot.

Ferguson Sets Up Negreanu

Chris Ferguson raised to 1,700 in the hijack and the lone caller was Daniel Negreanu on the button.

The flop fell {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and Ferguson check-called 2,500 from Negreanu. It was more of the same on the {7-Clubs} turn card, with Ferguson check-calling 4,800 from Negreanu. The river was the {10-Hearts} and Ferguson changed it up, betting 12,000 and sending Negreanu into the tank for about three minutes.

"I'm lost," said Negreanu. "I dont know what you have. Flush doesn't make sense Chris, but I don't think I can fold." Daniel talked himself into a call and was surprised to see Ferguson table {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a rivered set.

Fegruson: Up to about 52,000
Negreanu: Down to about 21,000

Mike Sexton Eliminated

Scotty Nguyen opened for 2,500, Mike Matusow three-bet to 6,600 and Mike Sexton moved all-in for 12,300 from the big blind. Nguyen reraised to 25,500 and Matusow folded.

Sexton {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Nguyen {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

"Don't put a queen out there," Mike Matusow pleaded as the flop came down {6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}.

"How about a three and then a seven?" asked Scotty Nguyen.

The dealer complied, burning and turning the {7-Clubs}.

"ACE!" cried a Sexton supporter from the audience.

"Hey, I'm not greedy man!" laughed Nguyen.

The river was the {Q-Spades}, spelling Sexton's elimination.

As Sexton shook hands around the table, Nguyen stood up from his chair and reached into the muck, pulling out Matusow's hole cards, revealing them to be pocket jacks.

"Aww, you lie to your friends Mikey?" cackled Nguyen.

Seed In The Lead

Huck Seed raised to 1,200 on the button and Erik Seidel called from the big blind. The flop came down {5-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs} and both players checked.

Seidel bet 2,500 when the {3-Clubs} turn fell and Seed called. The {7-Diamonds} hit the river and Seidel bet 5,000. Seed took about a minute before making the call, showing {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

Seidel couldn't beat it and slipped to about 65,000. Huck Seed is up to about 74,000.

Chop It Up

Antonio Esfandiari and Joe Hachem have really been going after each other. A minute ago, they both got all of their chips in the middle with ace-queen against ace-queen and split the pot.

A few hands later, Esfandiari raised to 1,000, and Hachem repopped it to 2,600. Esfandiari called and checked the {q-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop. Hachem bet 3,250, and Antonio called. Both players checked the {10-Clubs} turn. After the {7-Clubs} river, Antonio tried to steal the pot with a 5,300 bet. Hachem called with {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for top pair, second kicker. Esfandiari tabled {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for the exact same hand, and the chopped the pot again.

"The turn over a better hand than I've had every single time," lamented Howard Lederer. "I keep thinking they could be playing less than that, but they always have it. It's unbelievable"

Action Dan Can't Shake Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth limped in from the small blind and Dan Harrington checked his option.

Hellmuth checked the {9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop over to Harrington, who bet 600. Hellmuth called. The turn came the {7-Spades} and Hellmuth checked again. Harrington bet 1,500 and Hellmuth called. The river fell the {2-Spades} and Hellmuth checked a third time. Harrington fired out 4,500 and Hellmuth looked him up.

Hellmuth showed {3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for two pair and took it down.

"Action Dan! You're making him look like a saint!" Mike Matusow shouted, getting a hearty laugh from Harrington.
