Table of Death

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

Speaking of the table with Amit Makhija and Tom Dwan, that table has quickly become a table loaded with poker talent. Just taking his seat at the table is bracelet winner and godfather of online poker Cliff Josephy, and taking seat 5 is WPT winner Tommy Vedes. Should provide for plenty of action and fireworks.

How Good Does This Guy Run?

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

Chris Peterson has begun to expand on his one-man highlight reel reputation after tripling up on Table 36.

Peterson bounded over to the PokerNews Live Reporting Team desk to tell us his latest story: having nursed his short stack through to the dinner break, he got it in early after play resumed with {5-}{5-} but ran into two players who both had {A-}{A-}.

However, Peterson binked his two-outer on the river for a set of fives and scooped the pot!

Amak Doubles through Durrrr

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

Amit "amak316" Makhija has just scored a big double up against Tom "Durrrr" Dwan. The two players got a ton of chips in preflop, with Makhija all in for a little over 21,000.

Makhija: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Dwan: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

This classic coin flip turned into domination for Makhija when the flop came {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. The turn came the {q-Clubs}, and Dwan had a slim chance to get a sick suckout, but the river came the {2-Spades}. Makhija doubled up to about 43,000, and Dwan dropped down to 5,500.

Who Wants Chowder?

Level 6 : 100/200, 25 ante

The players are now on their 90-minute dinner break. Play will resume at approximately 8.20pm PST (GMT -7). In the meantime, why not read up on the latest poker headlines with The Nightly Turbo? It's good for you and part of a nutritious breakfast.

Chopportunity Knocks

Level 6 : 100/200, 25 ante

As we wandered over to Tom Dwan's table, Fabio Coppola fished out his Total Rewards Card and kindly asked us if he could please go into the chip counts. With his impeccable manners, it would have been rude of us to have refused his offer - and for those looking out for him, you'll be pleased to know that Coppola is currently on 39,000.

We then witnessed a hand heads-up between Tom Dwan and Amit Makjiha on a {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{A-Clubs} flop. Makhija opened for 825, and Dwan called, before both players checked down the turn of the {10-Clubs} and the river {A-Hearts}. Dwan tabled {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, and Makhija showed down {J-Spades}{10-Spades} - that'd be a split pot, for those of you keeping score at home.

Dwan is now on 24,700.
