Brandon Cantu has made it through, winning a flip with {6-Clubs}{6-Spades} against {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} on a {7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} board.

Finally Steven van Zadelhoff knocked out Randal Flowers after winning a big flip with {6-}{6-} against {A-}{8-}

Chainsaw Cut Out On The River

tayke2 • Level 6: 200-400, 50 ante

Allen "Chainsaw" Kessler was all in preflop and his opponent Erion Islamay made the call. The players flipped their cards up, and Kessler was in a dominating position.

Kessler: {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Islamay: {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The flop and turn were safe for Kessler, coming {7-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, but the river was a brutal {9-Diamonds}. Islamay knocked out Kessler, and has advanced to tomorrow.

Cornell Takes The Lead

tayke2 • Level 6: 200-400, 50 ante

Tyler Cornell has just won a pot that has given him a 2-to-1 chip lead in his heads up battle. Him and his opponent took a flop of {9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, and both players checked. The turn brough the {7-Diamonds} and Cornell bet 1,600. His opponent called, and the players saw the {4-Hearts} hit the river. Cornell bet again, this time 3,000, and again his opponent called. Cornell showed {k-Hearts}{9-Spades},a and his opponent showed {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Cornell had the better kicker, and scooped the pot to up his stack to 27,000.

Most Players Skipping Dinner

tayke2 • Level 6: 200-400, 50 ante

As we expected, a majority of the players opted for the shorter 15-minute break rather then the full 90 minute dinner break. It looks as though 16 tables have opted to take the full 90 minutes, meaning that they will not resume play until 8:15ish.

Break Time!

[user198205] • Level 6: 200-400, 50 ante

Players are now headed on break, but the length of that break is kind of up to them.

They can opt to either take the full 90 minute dinner break, or take a 15 minute break and resume play. All the players at the table have to agree to be able to skip the dinner break. Either way, there won't be too much action happening for the next 90 minutes

Souza Eliminated

[user198205] • Level 6: 200-400, 50 ante

Mike Souza, who has cashed in numerous past WSOP events, has just been eliminated from the tournament.

He made his last stand with the {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and needed to best another player's {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. The board ran out {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{2-Clubs}{8-Spades}{9-Spades} and Souza was unable to add another cash to his resume.

Spelling Bee Champ Advances

[user198205] • Level 6: 200-400, 50 ante

We reported earlier that 2002 Scripps National Spelling Bee Champion Pratyush Buddiga was in the field today and he just eliminated his last remaining opponent to secure his spot in round two. He told us that the player he was heads up against was a good player, but Buddiga claimed victory when his {a-}{k-} bested the other player's {a-}{8-}.

Tilly Moving to Round Two

[user198205] • Level 6: 200-400, 50 ante

Jennifer Tilly will be advancing to round two after knocking out the last two players at her table.

In the first hand, Tilly's {k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} bested her opponent on a board reading {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{6-Hearts} knocking him out and boosting her stack to 27,000.

Not long after that during heads-up play Tilly raised on the button and her opponent called. The flop came {10-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and action got checked to Tilly who bet 2,000. Her opponent then went all in for around 10,000 and Tilly called.

Tilly: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Opponent: {j-Spades}{7-Spades}

Tilly's fives were best against her opponent's flush draw and the turn and river of the {a-Clubs} and {10-Clubs} changed nothing securing Tilly's win.

Dinner Break Coming up...Maybe?

tayke2 • Level 6: 200-400, 50 ante

We are about 13 minutes until the scheduled dinner break, but all of the players will have the option whether to take it or play out their match. We are guessing that most of the players who are heads up will want to play it out, but those that are three and four handed might be more inclined to take the break.
