Large Chuck of The Magicians Stack Disappears

Level 7 : 200/400, 0 ante

We caught up with the action after a huge pot had already brewed.

On a board reading {K-Spades}{6-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, a player in middle position bet all-in for his last 14,000. His lone oppponent, Antonio Esfandiari, fell hard into the tank. The Magician looked as if he were about to muck, but then verbally announced a call. His opponent tabled {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} for top top and Esfandiari mucked his hand.

With that hand, Esfandiari has slipped to 14,500.

Dwan Returns, Gets Sent to Rail

Level 8 : 300/600, 0 ante

Tom "Durrrr" Dwan returned after being absent for a couple levels, apparently to go play in the 2-7 Draw Lowball
Championship event. Shortly after returning, we caught him in a hand where a middle-position player had opened for 1,600. Dwan three-bet to 4,500 from the big blind and the original raiser immediately raised enough to put Dwan all-in. Dwan made the call.

Dwan: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Opponent: {Q-}{Q-}

The board ran out {4-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and just like that, Dwan left his seat to go back to playing the 2-7 Draw Lowball event.

In Your Face from Eslami

Level 8 : 300/600, 0 ante

With about 10,000 chips already in the pot, Ali Eslami moved all in for 9,000 on the board of {K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}. His opponent tanked and then folded the {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} face up on the felt. Eslami showed the {8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for just eight high and won the pot. He's up to 22,000 in chips now.

X-22 Having a Roller Coaster of a Tournament

Level 8 : 300/600, 0 ante

On a board of {J-Clubs}{5-Spades}{K-Spades}, Paul Magriel announced that he was all in. Magriel was snap called by his opponent on the button, who turned over {J-Spades}{5-Hearts} for two pair, which was significantly ahead of Magriel's {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. The turn and river were of no help to Magriel, as they fell {4-Hearts} and {6-Spades}. This hand knocked Magriel down to about 5,000 in chips.

A few hands later we witnessed the aftermath of a hand where Magriel got all of his chips in the middle.

Magriel: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}
Opponent: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The board fell {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{7-Spades} and Magriel scooped the pot, doubling up to 11,900 in chips.

Boeree Folds Two-Pair?

Level 8 : 300/600, 0 ante

On a board reading {Q-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}, the big blind led out for 2,600 and Liv Boeree called.

The river came the {K-Diamonds} and Boeree's opponent bet again, this time for 6,000.

Boeree tanked for a while, but landed on a fold. Her opponent mucked his cards.

"I'm not very good at folding two-pair," Boeree said. "Did I make a bad fold?"

"I don't know," her opponent said with a grin.

Boeree's stack currently sits at 19,000
