Hall Takes a Hit

Level 1 : 50/100, 25 ante

With the draw having already taken place, a series of bets culminated in Daniel Alaei raising to 16,000 and Galen Hall calling all in.

Alaei showed {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-} and Hall mucked his hand.

After the hand Alaei had 42,500 (no add-on chips) and Hall was down to 10,000 (plus one add-on chip).

Booth Boosting His Stack

Level 2 : 75/150, 25 ante

Doug Booth raised from the hijack only to have Yan Chen re-raise to 1,650. Booth then made it 4,000 to go and Chen re-raised all in for around 9,000. Booth called and both players stood pat. Booth revealed the {8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-} and Chen mucked his hand and was left with 10,000 (plus one add-on chip). Booth's stack grew to 25,000 (plus two add-on chips).

We expect to see a lot of big moves from both these players today as Booth finished in 5th place in this event last year and Chen won a bracelet in the $1,500 NL 2-7 Draw event last year.

Chino Chipping Up

Level 2 : 75/150, 25 ante

Mike Matusow raised to 425 from under the gun and Chino Rheem then re-raised to 1,200. Justin Bonomo was in the hijack and decided to call while Matusow got out of the way. Both Rheem and Bonomo stood pat and checked. Bonomo mucked his hand when Rheem revealed his {10-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{3-}.

Rheem now has 16,000 (plus two add-on chips) and Bonomo is down to 5,000 (plus two add-on chips).

Action for Alleman

Anton Allemann raised from the hijack to 500 and was called by both John Monnette from the button and Steve Sung from the big blind. Sung drew two while both Allemann and Monnette drew one.

Sung and Allemann both checked the action over to Monnette who bet 925. Both of the other players called but the only hand revealed was the {10-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-} of Allemann. Both the other players mucked and Allemann scooped the pot.

Ship it to Sheikhan

Tom Dwan raised to 500 from under the gun and was called by Shawn Sheikhan (hijack), Scott Seiver (cutoff), and Barry Greenstein (small blind). Sheikhan drew one while the other three players each drew two cards. Greenstein checked, Dwan bet 2,000, Sheikhan called, and both Seiver and Greenstein folded.

Dwan: {10-}{9-}{7-}{6-}{4-}
Sheikhan: {10-}{9-}{6-}{5-}{4-}

Sheikhan's hand was best and he won the pot.
