Jaffe's Nut Straight Propels Him to 3rd Round

Level 10 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Masaaki Kagawa limped in for 3,000 and Jonathan Jaffe checked his option, bringing a rainbow flop of {4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{6-Spades}. Jaffe led out for 5,200 chips and Kagawa made the call. The turn card was the {8-Clubs} and from there the action progressed rapidly. Jaffe led out once again for 16,000 and Kagawa raised to 50,000. Jaffe decided to three-bet it to 84,000 and Kagawa four-bet for his remaining 10,000 chips. Kagawa revealed the {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a turned straight, but Jaffe's {9-Clubs}{7-Spades} gave him the nuts and a 2nd round victory.

Level 10 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Max Lykov
Max Lykov

We got to the table in time to see Antonio Esfandiari counting out chips for Maxim Lykov's double up.

The board read {3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{J-Hearts} and Lykov's victorious {7-Hearts}{3-Hearts} was placed in front of him.

Esfandiari is still sitting with around 92,000 with one 50,000 add on still yet to be taken. Lykov has taken a slight lead with 158,000.

Smith's Kings Are Good

Level 10 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Justin Smith min-raised to 4,800 from the button and Olivier Busquet made the call. The flop came {2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{J-Spades} and Busquet led out for 2,500. Smith raised to 7,000 and Busquet called. Both players checked when the {10-Clubs} fell on the turn. Busquet checked once more when the {2-Hearts} came on the river and Smith fired out 18,000 after some deliberation. Busquet called but mucked when Smith revealed {K-}{K-} for an overpair to the board. Smith is back up to around 120,000.

Durrrr's Big Slick Falls to Kenney's Set of Sixes

Level 10 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Committing the remainder of his second 50k chipstack, Tom Dwan pushed all-in with {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} and was called by Kenney, who held {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}. When the flop came {6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, the internet phenom known as Durrrr resigned himself to the loss, sliding his stack to Kenney. The {10-Clubs} on the turn provided some sweat, however, and Dwan playfully reclaimed his stack hoping to catch a club on the river. When the {7-Hearts} fell Dwan once again slid his chips to his opponents and exchanged one of his 50k add-on chips for a reload.

Schulman Wins Set Over Set Showdown

Level 10 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Nick Schulman
Nick Schulman

Nick Schulman and Vanessa Rousso stared at a board reading {K-}{8-}{6-}{3-}{2-} before Rousso announced herself all-in. Schulman's chips were in the middle faster than Rousso's and he flipped up {K-Clubs}{K-Spades} for the flopped top set. Rousso seemed shocked and turned her {3-}{3-} up with disappointment, asking "really?" to nobody in particular. The set over set confrontation catapults Schulman into the 3rd round.

Stevie Z Doubles With Two Pair

Level 10 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

On the button, Steve Zolotow made it 6,200 and Ayaz Mahmood made the call. The flop fell {J-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. Zolotow fired out a bet of 8,200 and Mahmood fired right back, popping it up to 20,000. Zolotow responded to Mahmood's aggression by moving the rest of his stack in, to which Mahmood instantly called.

Zolotow: {J-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Mahmood: {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

The turn brought the {2-Spades} and the river the {A-Spades}, and just like that Zolotow doubled up to nearly 230,000.
